I know this is going to sound awful but it has to be taped off for some time. My

sons doctor put him on and continually upped his dose, a few weeks ago he said

enough is enough, no more anxiety - so he stopped taking them after tapering a

little...well after 3 days of feeling like you did on a Sunday morning he had 3

seizures that almost killed him. It is very hard to wean off....ask for .25 and

then for a few days, then cut in half and take a good vitamin. Hope that

helps...

Keep the faith,

[ ] Weaning from Ativan

Has anyone here weaned successfully off of Ativan? I was taking .5 daily, once

day and the other day I cut it down by half. Im sooooo tired!!! I don't feel

sleepy (at least not often) but I feel like my body just wants to lay down :(

ts been 5 days now since I cut down and Im wondering how long to hold it until

tapering to zero. Ive only been taking this drug for about 6 months but it

seems to have done a number on me because last week when I tried quitting it

cold

turkey, not only was I tired but I also had bad heart palps. How long until I

an get off and how long until this fatigue goes away?

I, Ive been religiously on Bee's diet for about 4 weeks now. Thank you.

-- Hi A,

how old is he, how many milligrams was he on, and for how long was he taking the

drug when he quit cold turkey? Im so sorry to hear that he has gone through

seizures... how is he doing now? I wish him a speedy and uneventful recovery

from this! These drugs are so dangerous!

My husband weaned off this also - it must be done VERY slowly! He cut

the pills in quarters and reduced 1/4 at a time. It takes awhile

(weeks!) before reducing it again, in order to give your body time to

adjust to it. It does have serious withdrawal effects if done too fast.

But take heart! It CAN be done!. Be sure you are getting enough butter

/fats to help with the anxiety.
