Guest guest
Bee & Moderators.... I know pork is on the diet and my husband and I certainly eat it and love it. However, I become concerned about giving it to the children, and recently had a very reputable lady who owns a local healthfood store tell me that it should not be eaten. I realize there is tons of contradictory information everywhere, but I want to question what she told me.... She said that pork was not healthy because pigs do not sweat like we do and as such cannot excrete their own metabolic waste. So when we eat pork we have to do double the work detoxing because our bodies have to work at detoxing their waste/toxins in addition to our own.....or something very similar to that. She said that is was no coincidence so many cultures/religions/groups absolutely abstain from consuming it. We also have several close friends that consciously stay away from all types of pork as well. I get so easily confused when people try to contradict what we choose to eat/not eat and give seemingly logical information to support their reasons - and because it gives my children massive diarrhea, and because of the historical/cultural factor I guess I began to believe this position.....can you please clarify this for me and tell me what research indicates pork to be a safe, and even beneficial, meat source? Thank you in advance for your reply! Warmest regards, Jenna in Tampa, FL
