Guest guest
Sophie, Youd can buy BComplex vitamins at a vitamin shop for alot less so I would definitely check around and they all have the same ingredients. There are also B50 complex and B100 complex. As for the Herbal Calm, all those ingredients are good and calming and this, I'm, sure is one of the main reason why a is sleeping so well, but the Bcomplex also helps alot. I'm very happy that you found something that works. I would love to get some of that herbal calm myself and will check with the vitamin shop the next time I go there to see if they carry something like that. Good Luck! We left with a couple that we didn't already have, one being the B Complex. It is a Genestra Brand Orti B and has: Pathothenic Acid (d-calcium Pantothenate) 125mg. Niacinamide (B3) 120mg. Thiamine HCI (B1) 75mg. Riboflavin (B2) 75mg. Pyridoxine HCI (B6) 75mg. Filic Acid 0.4mg Biotin 300mcg Cyanocobalamin (B12) 100mcg Lipotropic Factors Choline (Bitartrate) 50mg. Inositol 50mg. When we got home with our bag of goodies the price of this (90 Cap) almost floored me...$40 (Can$)!! We always try to use quality brands for anything we digest (especially for her) but this is a tough one to swallow!! I know we can't put a price on our children's health but when you add them all up it's big $$...is this expensive or is it just me? Can anyone recommend a quality brand that's more economic? We also bought some Herbal Calm (60 cap- $21)it has: Skullcap 150mg Passionflower 100mg Wild Yam 75mg. Valerian 50mg. I'm so happy I had to tell somebody...a slept through the night the last two nights in a row that's 4 nights this month so far! In all of 2005 she slept 9 nights so I will definitely be keeping her on the Herbal Calm even though it could be attributed to any or all the other things we started to give her(ie the Brain Protocal). Plus she hasn't been saying " tummy ache " everyday of her life. 2005 has started to be a great New Year for us!!! Sophie
Guest guest
Hi Wilma, One of the great advantages of taking the B Complex vitamins is that they are water soluble. This means they are dissolved in the body and if taken in excess are excreted in the urine. That is why your urine turns dark golden, even brownish after taking the B Complex. Most of the Formulas are B-50 formulas for 50 mg B1,B2 etc or perhaps some B-25 and B-75 While theoretically you can take too much, in reality you must go to thousands of multiples of what is available. I take a B-50 from Freeda Vitamin a small vitamin company in Long Island City-Queens in New York City. But you probably can use most other reputable manufacturers such as Life Extension,Solgar,Schiff, BioChem,Pure Encapsulations. Doing tests for B Complex are a sensible suggestion, but I think it is a waste of time, Regardless of what the test says-still eat the right foods and take a B-50 supplement-perhaps a small child 75 lbs might take a B-25, that might be a wee bit cheaper than B-25 no big difference there.
