Guest guest
I'm not LP, but I'm definitely not thrilled at being in menopause. I've been dealing with it for nearly 10 years. For some reason (I'm suspecting it's because I lost a cousin to breast cancer and an aunt lost both breasts to breast cancer) doctors don't even consider HRT for me, even though I have mood swings, severe hot flashes and night sweats. I know osteoporosis is a high risk for all women of small stature, particularly caucasian women and women with family members who have had osteoporosis. I am caucasian, under 5' tall, and my grandmother had osteoporosis. I have osteopenia. My boneloss was found through an x-ray. Not good. All I can say is if your doctor says it's right for you, go for it. I know short women have a high risk of osteoporosis, so if it is beneficial and you can get it, if the benefits outweigh the risks, grab for it. I would if it was an option for me. Yaaaayyyy! My question is what folks out there think about hormone replacement therapy, especially those women with dwarfism. One benefit of HRT is supposed to be prevention of osteoporosis - are we any more or less susceptible to that than the general population? Any other issues? Thanks! Guest guest
I wasn'n going to ask about this problem as I had understood that on this diet it is better to stop medication of any kind. Or so I thought, but I saw the other day that you recommended to one of the member that she see a doctor for medication as her headaches were so bad (hope you're better!) and I wonder if you could give me some advice on this. My menopause started in full about a year ago and I had quite a few daily hot flashes, which I lived with. The daily flashes have gone, but I now have night hot and cold flashes, severe fatigue, and I can't sleep. I generally have problems sleeping, and usually wake up late next day or, if I wake up early, I feel tired all day. I'm desperate to stop this as I need to be fit to job hunt. I'm 51 and recently moved to Bordeaux after living in Paris for two years. I became ill, suffered exhaustion and chronic pain and could not continue my teaching job. I've been here for a year and I have two months left to find work or leave (and then the real problems begin). The problem is, I just haven't been able to put any effort into looking as I am forever tired, emotional, and still in pain. It decends into depression at times, and I seem to be sinking, which I can't afford to do at my age. I figure I might have one last shot at getting it right. Although there has, as I said in a previous message been an improvement in my stomach pain and eating habits. My worst pain, and discomfort (siatic pain, pain or sensation in my legs, arms, hands and feet as wells as the flashes) is at night from midnight to 5 or 6am and then I fall asleep and can't wake up early. I had decided that I wouldn't take HRT, as I last year I went cold turkey on all the drugs they were giving me for Fibromylgia as they were ruining my life, and now am thoroughly against taking medication. But now, at this moment, I think I should take something as I don't think the diet will get me well enough in time. Would it screw everything up if I take something to help me and continue on your diet at the same time? What would you recommend for me if not HRT. I have heard that there is a natural progesteron, but not sure where to get it. I'd would be so grateful for any advice, from anyone on this subject. Best regards Nuala

I recommended that to one member since she was new and wasn't on my program, so I have no way of knowing why she got such severe headaches. If she were on my program her symptoms would be more predictable and I could advise her. > > My menopause started in full about a year ago and I had quite a few daily hot flashes, which I lived with. I believe they are because of natural healing and detoxifying your body must do in order to get healthy, since they are very common. <snip> Although there has, as I said in a previous message been an improvement in my stomach pain and eating habits. The pains in your sciatic nerve, legs, arms, hands and feet are caused by toxins, and your body does more detoxification at night. +++You need to do things that help your body detoxify itself, which means taking an Epsom salt bath 1/2 hour before bedtime every night, and doing coffee enemas - see How to Detoxify Effectively: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/detox.php You should start with less coffee in the same amount of water as the article explains. <snip> Would it screw everything up if I take something to help me and continue on your diet at the same time? You can also do things that will help you sleep, and I think you should go to bed as early as possible too - see this article on sleep: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/sleep1.php I hope that helps. If it doesn't you should do my 9-Day Program and not do the coffee enemas since you'd be doing clear water enemas instead: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig6.php All the best, Bee
