Dear christine and also a hello to the rest of the group.

Thanks for the information and again tried small amount of fish and eggs - just

felt so bloated and YUK that I have gone back to mainly eating raw foods - fruit

and salads.

Perhaps I am one of the O's who will just remain vegetarian.

Make my own muesli as taken from Hilda s book - adjusted it a bit to

include only OK ingredients but find that I also can't have it every day as the

seeds seem to cause a bit of colitis. Will grinding the seeds and nuts make a

difference?

Struggling with CFS find my energy level to drop a lot by about 2 in the

afternoon. I react to soya, eggs or meat don't seem to do it for me either. So

how on earth am I going to supplement the protein? I do have Mozarella or feta

about 3 times a week.

Am on the thin side and therefore have no need for cutting out items for weight

reasons.

I do go to the gym 4 times a week, do Tai Chi, have a very full and active

programme around work and community issues but feel that I am connected to my

purpose and really enjoy what I am doing - am very fortunate to be the spiritual

co-ordinator within the company where I work and we look at Wellness on an

emotional, spiritual, physical and emotional level. My task is overall

co-ordinator this includes spiritual research - journeys - volunteer groups etc

- need to get my energy level up as at times struggle to keep to the programme.

I would rather like to know about supplements that I can take to make up for the

flesh eating - anyone out there know what I can use.

Thanks and best wishes

Elize

+++Hi ,

Cooked meats and eggs will keep that long, but you can put foods in an insulated

bag a thermos to be sure they are okay.

I will do that then. What about hard boiled eggs? I was going to boil some

before I leave to take with me. If these are out at room temp for 6-8 hours

before I would eat them is this okay?

Thanks,

+++, please think about it. 8-10 hours is okay, but more hours may not be,

so don't push it.

,

I used to take hard-boiled eggs on long camping trips and I'd eat them

up to 5 days later! They were kept at about 55 degrees (night) up to

80 degrees (day). So I'm sure they'd be fine in an airplane for less

than a day.

Is it allowed to take all this food on the airplane? Just curious.

Thanks for the input . Good to know.

And yes. I've done it before and it's never been an issue. I don't take too

much. I'll probably bring 4-6 hard boiled eggs and possibly a thermos with

scrambled eggs, meat and veggies. Maybe I'll just do the boiled eggs though to

be safe.

Thanks again!

Hi - are you on Bee's recipe group? posted a recipe there which is

basically the egg drink - cooked! The reason I like 's idea is that

cooking the egg drink ensures you get the nutritional yeast (if you put it in,

which I do). I often blend up well-cooked broccoli in my egg drink, as well.

You just def want to keep it refrigerated.

But i do like your idea of adding the ground beef to your eggs for extra protein

and staying power.

Sometimes when we have been going out for the whole day, I have made my egg

drink but only added a little water before gently heating it in a pan to lightly

cook it through and then blending it. I then pop that into a safe screw top

bottle and when I am ready to drink it I add some hot water from a thermos

flask. I have to shake it well to redistribute the fats before pouring it out

of the jar because it is cold. As I make it fresh each morning, I don't have to

worry about refrigerating it. I usually make enough for two drinks during the

day.

Ali.

Hi ,

I am on Bee's recipe group. I have baked the egg drink before (with less water)

and do really like it.

On the weekends I usually fry up some ground beef and add some seassonings

(paprika, cumin, garlic and pepper). I then put that aside and fry up onions,

broccoli and green pepper in the fat along with some CO for about 20min. Then I

add the meat back in and put all this in a small baking dish with 3 eggs. I put

butter on top and bake it in the oven at 325 for 40min to make sure the veggies

are very well cooked. It's so good and probably my favorite thing I make to eat.

How much of each seasoning to you add? I assume this is for 1 lb. of ground

beef? Also, what is CO?

Hi

I actually just make this as one meal for myself and only use 2 oz of meat

(since I also eat 3 eggs with this it's a lot of protein for me). I don't

measure my seasonings either...I just put in small pinches of each. And by CO I

mean coconut oil. :) Sorry, I'm not of much help. I don't really measure when it

comes to seasoning my foods. Just do it as I cook!
