Guest guest
I'd like to know how much was the shipping for Wilderness Family. I just ordered another gallon from Mountain Rose Herbs; it was $39 plus shipping, which came to $50.56. The previous time I ordered, it came to $55.51, so their cost is actually going down a little bit. At any rate, they beat Nutiva's price by over $30 per gallon. Good enough for me. Guest guest
Hi, : Right now I can't afford to shell out that much for 5 gallons, but... maybe in the future (I just made my last car payment... happy dance here!). It's been a long haul financially. LOL... now I have to save up for car repairs (deferred maintenance) and moving (hopefully by the end of 2011). I am happy with the MRH coconut oil. The texture seems a little creamier than Nutiva's, and it does smell like coconut oil. The bucket it comes in has a metal handle, so it might be a little more durable to re-use the container. The bucket is taller than Nutiva's, and the diameter of the container is smaller, and it fits in the box slightly better. Their shipping takes about 1 more day than Nutiva, but then again, they're located farther away from me. Somebody else here got a gallon container where the oil itself was kind of yellow. But the one pail I've gotten so far was the proper color. I had gotten some Nutiva batches which were slightly yellow, and the stuff smelled like perhaps a little too much heat had been applied. At any rate, I am always happy to pay less for items I want and need. Guest guest
Where I live, I work at home. I don't know many people up here, and unfortunately I don't know anyone up here who is using enough coconut oil to chip in for a gallon. But down the road I will invest in a bigger bulk amount of it. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Pam Maltzman > > Do you have any friends in the neighborhood who would go with you on > buying a bigger amount of coconut oil? Guest guest
Hi Ladies, this is Angie from Arizona. I just recieved my order from MRH. I order most of my coconut oil from them and it's always been good. I too love the coconut flavor. The amount I paid for the 5 gallon bucket was $165.00 plus $28.21 for shipping that brought the price to about $38.70 per gallon. So far this is the best price I've found. I do order with others that need the oil, but I always try to keep a couple gallons. I tell each lady to keep her bucket from previous orders. My sweet husband pours it out for us. Pam, like you I'm looking forward to when I can order the 5 gallon on my own. Are they a strong coconut flavor? Hi - I have not purchased CO from Mountain Rose but was gifted a quart from Wilderness Family <http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/category/centrifuge-extracted-extra-vir\ gin-coconut-oil.php> (yikes, hope the link works). This is very expensive but it is THE best CO i've ever had (i've been using it for 1.5 yrs). It has a very light, mild CO taste; it just was so luxurious and silky. very very easy for me to consume. i just can't afford it! i've been using Tropical Tradition's Green label CO which is " OK " (I don't mind melting some in a hot cup of filtered water; but do NOT like taking it straight off the spoon); but it's what I could afford at the time. With money being as it is, I'm probably going to order Nutiva (from Amazon) the next time I need it. began 03/09/
