Guest guest
Hi , I definitely feel for you and I hope your dad can heal from the stroke. I know everyone is different, but for me it is anger that drives me to be committed to this way of eating. I am angry at the world we live in that poisons us in so many ways. I decided that I didn't want to be a part of it anymore, figuratively speaking. For 37 years I poisoned my body and I hit a point of desperation. Absolutely NOTHING is more important than getting healthy now. I started Bee's program over a year ago and have NEVER cheated, not even for a second. Not because I have great willpower or discipline, but because I'm angry! You will get your will to live back on this program. You will respect your body when you treat it right. There is no reason to wait years to do it. Do it now. Also, there are a lot of things you can do to get you through the rough times. Just search the forum for epsom salt baths, dry brushing, coffee enemas, deep breathing. Therapy, meditation, and light yoga could help as well. I hope that helps in some way. Guest guest
Just remind me, how great do you feel and look? how much energy do you have?... When I was strict on the diet I was so thin, so much energy, I got to get back there. Thanks for your words of encouragement! Guest guest
I don't want to repeat too much of what I've said here before so I'll ask you to read the success stories on Bee's website. I have 2 on there around June-Aug 2010. I still have to read the success stories often when I'm feeling bad. Especially when I'm going through heavy detox. Nausea is a big problem for me as well as fatigue. But when I finish those serious bouts of detox I feel incredible. Guest guest
Hi . I was self-defeating for years. Just spent so long feeling sorry for myself that I could never stick to any diets. Why me? Boohoo, poor me. Why can EVERYONE eat the yummy stuff except me. Whaaaa! You know the score. What profoundly changed my mind-set, was when my digestion finally collapsed and I could hardly eat anything. That set me on a quest to find out why. What I learned was incredible. The 'yummy' food - plus the lack of nutrition it doesn't contain is damaging EVERYONE to a greater or lesser degree. Sooner or later it will catch up with them. They will get Diabetes, or Arthritis, or MS, or Alzheimer's, etc., etc., etc. That realization completely blew me away. I realized that if I want to get well, I need to avoid it like the plague. I try to look at it this way. If I lived on a desert island and had never seen a chocolate eclair, or a banana toffee tiramisu cupcake, I wouldn't miss it. If all I ate every day was fish, breadfruit and coconut, I would be happy and grateful for the food I had. It is because we are surrounded by this stuff all the time - and other people eating it around us that we want to eat it. It is purely habit and temptation. If it physically made you vomit when you ate it, you would avoid it. Because it doesn't do that and the effects are more insidious, we pretend it's ok. it's not. We are fooling no one but ourselves. They say that knowledge is power, and knowing this has certainly empowered me. I am on a quest to convert as many people as I can to a natural low-carb way of eating - whether they are interested in following Bee's diet or not. Doing research helps to keep me focused. Doing my research, finding out the Truth about the health system, and the food we eat, discovering Bee's diet, encouraging others - they have all been ways to help me keep on the right path. Getting rid of the bad food is a good place to start and anything I can do to help others ditch the junk has to be of benefit in the long-term. I grieve that I discovered all this too late to save my parents a lot of pain and heartache, but am grateful that I can help myself and my husband and precious children and my friends and that is what keeps me focused. How can I promote this way of eating if I don't do it myself? I have to try and be the 'evidence' that it works. I still have some way to go, but I already have a long list of things that have healed or improved since I have been low-carb (3 years) and on Bee's diet (1 year). I have to prove it to myself - and everyone else.... I know it is hard to stay focused when you are feeling depressed but that gets you into a cycle of self-defeating behaviour. You are floating in a boat with no understanding of the direction you need to go in. But Bee's diet has given you a new horizon. Something to aim for and keep your eyes focused on. It works, but you have to keep rowing to get there. Bee and her diet are inspirational - and you too can be an inspiration by being the 'evidence' that it works. I really hope you can get through this very stressful period in your life and that your father is able to achieve some kind of recovery from the stroke. He needs you more than ever right now - and he needs to know that you are looking after yourself and doing the best you can for your own body. Hugs - Ali. > > Hi my name is , > > I have been semi-part the group for over a year now but struggling, and alot > of members say it takes years to " get it " meaning " Follow Bee's diet to the > tee - no cheats " . > > My father just suffered a stroke, we are super stressed here, I know Bee's > diet is the answer...but why do I have these self defeating behaviors, > eating the wrong things. > > I feel I need therapy to unleash the pain, all that is keeping me from > respecting my body, where is my will to live? > > Anyone have any thoughts? > > >

I actually wish I were as angry as Josh: no cheats! In a whole year! Wow! I can't seem to go 3 weeks w/o cheating and I, too, have been on Bee's pgm for a year. But I, too, am angry at the lies we have been told. That we can eat whatever we want and just look to the medical society to 'cure' us. How awesome of Bee and many others whom have discovered that we can indeed control - to an extent (we're not God, after all) - our health by controlling our diet. I encourage you just to read Bee's site. See what she says about diet, blood sugar, heart disease, diabetes, etc... so many health matters that we can control via diet. I think you will be encouraged enough to live and then not only to live, but to give others a hand up, as well. Healing prayers for your daddy...and your heart and will to live...
