As my www.fitday.com instructions say: " You cannot translate grams to any quantity, measurement, weight, etc. since it doesn't work that way. " Grams are on all food labels, and they are by serving size (if specified), or according to the total amount/quantity in the container. Not all foods listed on a nutritional calculator are by weights either, some are by size, i.e. small, medium, large for tomatoes, or in slices, or cut up vegetables by the 1/2 cup or cup. So ensure you follow these instructions when entering foods to determine the quantities, and then you can see where you need to adjust your intake up or down: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods9.php All the best, Bee
Guest guest
>>Will a kitchen scale (in grams) help?<< +++ I have a kitchen scale, which i love. I use it to measure out my coconut oil, for instance, and I used it to measure out protein portions. >> If anybody has similar or close to the following ratios, can you please just tell me your ratios of fat interms of spoons, protein in terms of piece(s) and/or size and carbs in terms of spoonfulls or cups. > > My ratios are as follow: > protein: 69 grams > fat : 172.5-241.5 grams > carbs: 55.2 grams +++ Your ratios are the same as mine. Here is a sample of my day (but I don't eat the full 55g carbs): 2 cups bone broth 6.5 Tbsp coconut oil 3 oz chicken 3 oz ground beef 1/2 c cooked broccoli 3 Tbsp butter This gives me: 70g protein, 169g fat, 10 g carbs. I just find it way easier to weigh food than to measure using a cup measure. So I would use the scale to weigh out the 3 oz of chicken. Fitday, as Bee suggests, will tell me that 3 oz of chicken contains: 23 grams protein and 11 g of fat. HTH

I just checked fitday and 6 ounces is only 32 grams protein. Your fats don't seem right either. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
Hi and Bee Thanks for the input. highly appreciated. I used their calculations for chicken, butter, coconut oil, broth; i did not 'create' any of those foods since, IMO, they are 'basics'... It sounds like you think I'm not getting enough of those nutrients?

Would you give me exactly what you enter into fitday for chicken, beef, and broth? Cheers, Bee

You did not list eggs in your message, and without them your protein would only be 50.2g per your original message, so that's why I asked. With 3 eggs your intake and ratios are great!
