Guest guest
We tested nattokinase on mouth cancers in zebra danio fish. It made the cancers grow about 7% faster. We combined nattokinase with a water soluble form of zeolite and it slowed the growth of cancer. I do think that nattokinase (or natto) is useful to have around if you have atherosclerotic coronaries. I would advise caution if you have clotting problems and are already on blood thinners. Cliff, what did you learn that has you curious? That didn't sound overly great to me. He said that it was ten times better than Flaxseed Oil/cottage cheese mix on which I am doing very well. I am within two months of age 83 and seem to be in no danger. In less than two months It will be 14 years since being diagnosed with advanced PCa stage 4 - 1 with a fairly aggressive cancer. I did not believe it was as good as he was making it sound but I wanted an opinion from others such as yourself. I feel very good with the course being pursued but wanted reinforcement. If there was something wonderful I wanted to know about it. Thank you very much for your reply. Cliff

Cliff Cliff, another great thing we can do to keep the body ticking good is to eat mostly raw foods because as we get older, we need even more enzymes from external sources. I don't know how nutritionists " know " this, but the common thing I find them sharing is that our body produces only a certain number of enzmyes in our life time. Enzymes are needed for every metabolic function in the body and you can get those through juicing. I am 54 and I decided that if I want a LONG vital life juicing has to be a major part of my daily routine. Normal was a good example of that. Look him up doing a word search. He was the original " juice man " . God Bless Diann
Guest guest
Helen, http://www.nutricology.com sells nattokinase. If you have infections, Berg of Hemex says is important to treat them while taking nattokinase, because the fibrin limits their growth. If nattokinase is used to break up the fibrin deposits, the infections may be able to thrive if not combatted by transfer factor or antivirals or antibiotics at the same time. Guest guest
Thanks, Rich: I guess I had better talk to Dr. Cheney about this. He wants me to take baby aspirin but I don't want to, and need a substitute. Don't know if he will be giving me anything specifically for infections or if I have any. Salt C is coming to mind as something to try. thanks again, Helen > > For Natto > > : fvlnmore@g... > > > > For lots of info on blood clotting > > FVL List: list@f... > > > > ************************************************* > > <-- MARIEL Corbett, OR USA Earth ---> > > > Please snip replies!!!< > > ************************************************* > > > > > > Can anyone please tell me where I can buy some natto? Guest guest
Helen I had had signs of ISAC since a child, even had a PE in the past, so I reckon there had been a considerable build up of fibrin over the years. My blood tests showed the lower my platelet count (thrombocytopenia) the higher my fobrinogen count. I used bromelain and for a while only had hints of herxing. Then all hell was let loose as clearly too many pathogens and toxins were released into the blood stream. I was taking olive leaf extract but it clearly wasn't enough, though looking back it may well be nothing would have been. It took sometime to recover from this but very soon I became aware of improvements in areas linked to ISAC (fibrin build up) and the supps I was taking seemed to have a better effect. Since then I have continued with a maintenance dose of enzymes, the signs of ISAC only now occur when it is too hot or I am responding to the samento etc for my chronic infections. Cheers, Tansy > > For Natto > > : fvlnmore@g... Guest guest
What would aspirin do in this context? I don't have the results of my fibronigen test yet, but Cheney told me to take baby aspirin because my father had a stroke. thanks, Helen > > > For Natto > > > : fvlnmore@g... > > > > > > For lots of info on blood clotting > > > FVL List: list@f... > > > > > > ************************************************* > > > <-- MARIEL Corbett, OR USA Earth ---> > > > > Please snip replies!!!< > > > ************************************************* > > > > > > > > > Can anyone please tell me where I can buy some natto? Guest guest
Hi Bee, I know soy is bad, but keep hearing about amazing benefits of natto. I ate some, just a Tablespoon, and my blood pressure dropped over 30 pts. within a few hours. Hmm. For someone with significant vein problems and high blood pressure this seems like a good thing, but I am confused. I would appreciate any input when you have time. Thanks so much! Love, Vicki

Natto is made from soybeans, and almost all soybeans grown in the World are genetically modified which are damaging to health. Also soybeans are not on my program since they are a legume, just like kidney beans, chick peas, navy beans, peas, etc. The best to you, Bee
Guest guest
What a coincidence, Becca. I was just at United Noodle about 2 weeks ago and they have a whole natto section. It's in the refrigerated section in styrofoam packs. Since the labels were in Japanese (I lived there, but I can't read it!), I asked if they had organic natto, and the clerk found a couple of organic types, though not with our USDA organic label. However, when I looked at the ingredients (the only part in English), it seemed like all had something I thought looked like MSG or one of its many aliases (hydrolyzed protein, textured protein, ajinomoto, etc.). I'd love to know if someone finds an organic variety sans MSG! I think my friends back in Los Angeles can find it there, so I know it exists. It's apparently off the charts in vitamin K, and definitely an acquired taste and texture that you either hate or love. Beth
Guest guest
I STILL haven't found any natto to try! But can't say I've looked too hard... This reminds me though, that last time we were discussing this, Greg Lee mentioned something called Arginine. Can you tell us more about this, Greg? I did a search and found that natto is usually eaten with a traditional breakfast of rice, toasted nori sheets, miso and fish. YUM! One place also suggested putting it in an avocado half. Also, apparently if you stir it or " whip " it enough, the (offensive) ammonia smell dissipates. Kathy
Guest guest
You can find it at the Oriental Store not far from the U of Mn west bank--either refrigerated or frozen. It's a traditional Japanese food that is often used for breakfast. I couldn't choke it down--too gummy, slimy, smelly for me but my Japanese friend has very fond omemories of it for breakfast in Hawaii. Arginine is easily found as a supplement at GNC and other places or on line. Another not so tasty amino acid favored by men looking for a little more " firmness " and weight lifters/athletes looking for an edge. Guest guest
So you couldn't eat it, huh Greg!?! Did you stir it well with your chopsticks? I've still gotta get some and try it! Oh yes, I know about arginine as a supplement. It's best avoided by people with herpes (even just cold sores) as it can contribute to a breakout though. Guest guest
Here's a blog post on natto, and check out the sweet child chowing down at the end of the short video. My husband just asked " what's that? " and I told him it was a video on how to eat natto -- he thought I said how to eat nachos. HA! http://www.thenourishinggourmet.com/2010/08/simple-natto-for-breakfast.html Beth
Guest guest
Kathy, I totally love natto, don't let the hype color your first encounter. Empty your cup of expectations and just enjoy your first experience for what it is! I expected this very strong dish and what I found instead was an absolutely delicious new favorite food. On the sad side, it's pretty difficult to find it without something critically wrong with it. Either loaded with MSG, or it's conventional meaning likely GMO, or this or that. But if you can find it organic and then just not put the sauce (which is where the chemicals are) on it, instead top it with your own spicy mustard or a dash of soy sauce, or both, delicious! mmmMm
Guest guest
Oh, I'm far from discouraged ! Just intrigued... I do appreciate the tip about the sauce. That's easy enough to avoid then. But why would the wise Japanese ruin something like that? Kathy
Guest guest
Yeah it's too bad! Of course the constitution was a good idea but look how that's been mocked, battered and trampled on! That's why we teach and learn I suppose.
