I treated my oldest as pyroluric some time ago and it definitely had a positive effect on him, he also fits the physical description of pale skin that burns easily, white spots on nails, poor dream recall etc, decided to use P5P instead of B6.

Zinc is something we need to give him as an ongoing supplement as well as Inositol or we find ourselves back to square one pretty quick.

Hi,I found this article about pyroluria. i apologies if this has been found and posted here already (don't have time to look). My daughter (high functioning, non-diagnosed but with many autistic symptoms, and who has has been on biomedical for 5 years now), fits the profile, and her anxiety hit the roof since we run out of zinc.http://www.bcrionline.org/articles/89024812.pdfhope this interests some of you :) Regards,Ola Gasson

Hi,

A couple of weeks ago I had a melt down. Very severe. I felt my head would

explode. I took some candex and was relieved in a short time. My son and I

tested positive for pyroluria and I wonder if that also had something to do with

it. I was off the charts high in copper. I'm still taking Candex and added

oregano oil.

Has anyone treated pyroluria with Bee's protocol?

I feel unsure what to do. Should I add some zinc, b6, manganese, maybe a multi

mineral?

My melt downs might cost me relationships that I treasure. Hope I don't have one

again.

,

that sounds like My JJ. I will get him tested for this. Thanks, Lois

pyroluria

My 19 yoa son, who has high functioning autism was just diagnosed (today) with pyroluria. I read about someone else whose son was diagnosed with this either on this list or another I'm on. If it was this list, thanks for posting about it. Our doctor had never heard of it. And we had trouble because they sent the wrong kit for the urine test the first time and we had to repeat it. My son has increasing become more depressed, anxious, violent, had very manic mood swings, is almost never happy, and gets angry at the drop of a hat. He has one or two of the physical symptoms of pyroluria and all of the mental ones. The treatment is supplements of B6, zinc and maybe some other things like manganese. I am really hopeful that the supplements will be helpful. Basically, pyroluria is a genetic blood disorder where too much kp is produced. It binds the b6 and zinc and carries it out of the body in the urine. B6 is needed for serotonin production. If your child has these symptoms and they got worse in the teen years it might be worth your while to get the urine test. And if your child has been diagnosed with pyroluria I'm interested in any feedback or observations you have. Most of the websites out there are places that are trying to sell supplements so it's kind of hard to find unbiased info.
