Guest guest
Hi everyone. I am new and i am Sandy. Not sure where to start....I was recommended to You,Bee by a lady from Alkaway.Having tried just about everything i asked Cassie who to turn to...and she recommended i contact you. My story,in short: Over the years,i have put on more and more weight. Some due to stopping smoking, some due to an accident and ultimately due to a condition explained to me by my Gastrointestinal surgeon as a Ghrelin resistence. I had a stomach banding a few years ago that did not go to my satisfaction. It did stop me from putting on more weight but did not lose any.I complained to my surgeon after years, that i have these constant cravings no matter haw much i would eat....totally uncontrollable. He, very kindly explained to me that some people do develop a resistance to the Ghrelin hormone, that has the effect to tell your brain when you have eaten enough. That does not happen with me. His only option, he could think of, is to have a stomach reduction, like a " sleeve " or stomach bypass operation to actually reduce the amount of cells producing the hormone. I do feel this is a bit drastic and i surely am looking at an alternative before i choose the knife yet again. Have been on a low carb/no carb diet...but got pretty quickly sick of it as i was craving fruits and naughty foods. Cassie told me she has been following your diet for a while now....I was wondering if you could help me with an advice as to where to start. My hormones? i guess out of balance as i started going through menopause at 42,after an accident. Since then i have been taking Maca capsules to help a bit with my lethargy and stop the hot flushes that i still have after 13 years...i am 55yo. Every time i have to take antibiotics...my body feels like out of balance again...c.ravings come back big time and it takes me for ages to bring it under control. I did find something that helped a fair bit...African mango seed powder. I also use occasionally Konjac noodles as they have no calories and no carbs... really nice. I need somewhere to start...and i feel lost. Thank you kindly, Sandy
