Guest guest
Hi, My name is and I've been following your candida program and the Nourishing Traditions/WAP insights for about a year and a half. I'm feeling great and getter stronger every day. I have some simple yeast symptoms left and some immune depletion, but nothing like when I first started. Which was that I couldn't walk on my right leg(knee and foot inflammation) and I had severe yeast infection and fatigue that would knock me flat. We get a pork share twice a year that is well raised/fed. I have come across lots of information concerning the eating of pork and the problems it can cause and why we shouldn't consume it, i.e. it is a non-ruminating / split toe animal instead of hoof and ruminating like cow, deer. And I have heard that the pig on a cellular level is much like a humans which is supposedly problematic. I love to eat pork, think it tastes scrumptious and it so happens that sometimes I don't feel well after eating it. Its not always the case, but occasionally this happens. It almost feels like my immune system is compromised or something- which of course is one of the big issue I'm fighting with the candida! So the question is do you have any thoughts about pork consumption and these perspectives that people put out? Also, do you have any references on a sound perspective about eating porK? I know that lots of cultures enjoy pork and I'd just like a straight answer, maybe there isn't one!! Enig, co-author of Nourishing Traditions, who is Jewish doesn't recommend eating pork and there aren't many recipes in the cookbook. Thanks for your thoughts and your program and wonderful website. I am so thankful for you and finding the sight - I think it may have saved my life...its the best resource available right now for candida help. I've recommended it to so many others. Thanks,

Pigs are actually non-ruminant omnivores, and so are humans, birds (chicken and turkey), bears, squirrel, etc. We do not think of chicken and turkey as unclean, so why should we think pork is any different. Actually meat is tissue, and it doesn't matter if it comes from a pig, a cow, a chicken, or in some cultures, a rat--meat is meat. Not feeling well after eating pork isn't because of the meat. I cannot speak for religions that taboo pork. Some religions taboo all meats, including eggs, i.e. in India. We had a young person in that religion on our group, who was dependent upon family and was very sick. The family and community would ban anyone who ate meat or eggs, so our member had to sneak cooking and eating them at a friend's home. All the best, Bee
