Guest guest
Hi , Yes I did do a search and found a few posts but I still wasn't clear on if I could possibly overdose on Vitamin D by just going a few times a week for 3 weeks. After reading the posts I want to clarify with Bee if what I'm doing is safe (at least temporarily). I'm not too happy that my friend is making me do this to begin with but I remember what it's like to be the bride and she already thinks I'm crazy when it comes to my health so I don't want to even try and explain more to her since she has enough to deal with. Hi - have you done a research here in the archives or on her site? I know this topic has been discussed within the past year and Bee has given her beliefs on it. You can do this research while you await Bee's response in the morning. Anyway, I've been taking 1 tbsp of garden of life cod liver oil and 1 capsule of the natural factors halibut liver oil. I don't shower right after but I do about 5 hours later. I've gone a total of 3 times now and plan on going 3 more times. One more time this week and 2 next week and then that's it. Guest guest
Thanks Bee. However, I did already read that message so that's why I was asking this question. Sorry to bring it up. I don't want to ask you to repeat yourself again or waste your time. But are you saying I will overdose on Vitamin D then even if I'm just doing this temporarily for a few weeks? Should I not take Cod liver oil the days I do tan? Again...this is only for a few times that I'm doing this. I don't plan on doing this regularily or anything. Or could I overdose on Vitamin D? +++Hi , I just typed in tanning as the Subject in our Search on the Group my message on Tanning Beds came up as the 4th one: Why You Shouldn't Use Tanning Beds When You Take Cod Liver Oil – Message #102028, January 27, 2011. Guest guest
Just wanted to say that this information is well cool, as I've often wondered about if I'm standing in the Sun will I over do my Vitamin D intake, beings I take Supplements. Thank you for that important information Bee. Hugs, Carol From: beeisbuzzing2003@... Maybe so, I don't know. However, UVB rays create vitamin D on your skin, while the UVA rays in the sunlight will tend to destroy excessive levels of vitamin D circulating in your body. This is from my article Vitamin D – Amount of Sun Exposure Required: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/sun.php " Some people may worry that if they are in the sun a lot they will overdose on Vitamin D. However this doesn't happen, and here's why. When you're exposed to the sun, the UVB rays create vitamin D on your skin, while the UVA rays in the sunlight will tend to destroy excessive levels of vitamin D circulating in your body. That means that even " if " you are taking vitamin D and also getting it from the sun, the UVA rays in sunlight won't allow you to have too much vitamin D. Guest guest
Hi Bee, Where I used to tan there was only one tanning bed that had both uva and uvb. All the others used only uva. Might these beds Bee possibliy lower vitamin d levels too much? kelly  ________________________________  > > Hi Bee, > > What about using tanning beds that only use uva lights? +++Hi kelly, Can you tan with only UVA rays, and are there tanning beds that only have UVA rays? Guest guest
Hi Bee, I think I found the answer to my question after reading your last post to someone else about as long as I'm getting both UVA and UVB rays I can't overdose on Vitamin D. I checked with the tanning place and the bed I'm using has both UVA and UVB rays so it sounds like I'm okay. Thanks! Thanks Bee.
