Guest guest
Hi Bee! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism after I started this diet, about 5 months ago. With all of the wonderful health improvements I have experienced so far, I am hesitant to start on medicine just yet. My question is whether there are people whose thyroids have fully rebounded through major diet changes. I keep thinking, if eating certain foods can have a significant negative impact on my thyroid, isn't it possible that major dietary changes can have a positive impact? Is thyroidism really going to make me a lifelong slave to medication?? I don't want to be stupid, however. I also had a baby almost 2 years ago, but am certain that I had/have undetected postpartum hypo. My question is how long should I wait? I am looking at about 3 years on the diet. If I start on the meds, is it possible that in 12 months I can go off the meds? Can you direct me to studies regarding natural healing of the thyroid gland? Do you have other recommendations? Do you have recommendations for taking selenium , or is the egg truly the best supplement? Thanks so much for your website and all that you have done to help so many! Sincerely, Debbie

I'm honored to be able to help. I lost my thyroid in 1986 or 87 when I was on a candida program that obviously was improving my health. Looking back I understand what happened. My doctor was holistic and had me taking my basal body temperature which indicated I was hypothyroid since I was so cold, was losing hair, etc. So she had me taking iodine and natural thyroid meds. Neither of us knew my thyroid would recover (normalize). But obviously it " tried, " but since I was still on thyroid meds and taking iodine my thyroid went into a tizzy, from low to high. Instinctively I stopped them both, but a couple of months later I ended up in the hospital with incessant vomiting. That's when they found I had a goiter caused by a very overactive thyroid. They scared me so much that I allowed them to give me radioactive iodine, so I have no thyroid and am on meds for life. Also see the Success Stories by members of this group since many people have had their thyroid normalize on this program: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/success/index.php So, you are definitely thinking right! The reason your thyroid is low is mainly because the adrenals are overactive, which happens due to stress, lack of nutrition, toxins and also just overall poor health. When the adrenals are overstressed they cannot handle normal thyroid hormones. The thyroid senses this and automatically lowers its hormone output in order to protect the adrenals. If you take thyroid meds it puts more stress on the adrenals, which becomes a vicious circle. Of course there wouldn't be any studies done on natural healing. For me, the proof in people's success stories and my own experience is enough. That's why this program does not treat this and that symptom, organ malfunction, disease, etc. because it provides the body with what it needs so it can heal itself naturally, according to Nature's Laws on Health. God didn't make any stupid bodies, and Nature gets it right. Your body is smart enough to balance out all nutrient, hormone, water, etc. levels if you give it what it needs to do its job! Minerals like selenium are only required by your body in " trace amounts " which is provided on this program, not only in eggs and other foods, but also by taking 1.5 teaspoons per day of ocean sea salt. The salt is also very important for your adrenals. Of course the combination of fats and oils on this program help your body produce proper hormones, and minerals must have them in order to be absorbed and utilized. But like I always write: All of the nutrients on this program work together, including vitamins, meats and eggs. All the best, Bee
