Subject: Coffee substitute?

Hoping all you amazing people might have a suggestion for me. I gave up coffee a

year and a half ago and was drinking Dandy Blend in its place. Since the

warehouse was shut down, I no longer have a place to buy it. I could buy it

online but I can't stand the thought of paying $10 for shipping.

Do you know of a store in town that carries it or do you have a comparable

product suggestion that I could try? Has to be sugar free, caffeine free, msg

free and gluten free please.

Thanks!

You can purchase a 2# bag online at Amazon.com for $29.95 plus FREE

shipping. If you're not wanting 2# please contact me privately and I would

be happy to order it and split it with you.

I am sure that I saw some of that at the Valley Natural Foods in Burnsville, on

my one visit there. I did not notice the price, but that is a great place!

Teeccino contains natural flavors which could mean MSG.

Is there such a thing as " naturally occuring " MSG?

In any case, I think what Carolyn was referring to is that MSG doesn't

have to be explicitly declared as an ingredient. It is conveniently (and

legally) disguised under the innocuous umbrella term " natural flavors " .

If you google 'msg natural flavor' you'll find that it's virtually

impossible to rule out MSG as an ingredient of any processed food!

Yes, there is naturally forming MSG. Both seaweed and ripe tomatoes

produce free glutamic acids. The glutamates produced are very similar to

refined MSG, just in low dose.

Cafix, Faux Joe and Dandy Blend do not contain natural flavors so these flavors

are not necessary. They may or may not contain MSG but it is likely that they

contain impurities.

@@ Hi ina,

You can try Teeccino as a coffee alternative or Swiss Water " decaf coffee.
