Guest guest
I have read from the usda and fda that if it says 100 % organic than it is, you have to be careful about ones that say all natural. Guest guest
I found stevia at Walmart also, and it is the same kind that my chiropractor sells in his office, and I trust him. So I think the one at Walmart is a good one. > > > > > > i found stevia in shoprite as well as walmart!!! > > > > > > the website has info that seems organic. they state the process of extraction is natural > no chemicals > do u know the brand name or the distributer name of the product in trader joe's >

Guest guest
Oh my goodness, stevia really was illegal in the UK so I wonder how he gets away with selling it. It was banned years ago have they changed the law or what. Luv nne Hi,I just saw a posting saying that Stevia was prohibited from sale inthe UK, but I have just bought some from a herbalist down in Dorset orsomewhere like that! It is expensive and you can buy it either inpowder form or liquid. The site is www.godshaer.co.uk. The herbalist is called Alan Hopkingand you can get a free consult on a Freephone number! You have tospeak to him in person when ordering anyway. He sells remedies for allsorts of conditions, so he might be able to help out with some of ourproblems.Luv,Anne

Guest guest
Would anybody like to write an article about this and place it in the Files for our members to read this information in the future. We need something like this on hand so it is available for all to read. So many of our members have Candida Albicans and this is the sort information they should have. Many thanks to anybody who volunteers. Guest guest
Stevia is very expensive as you have to purchase it from outside of the UK and it is in fact illegal in the UK. If you require a granulated sugar you can walk into any Holland & Barrett (usually one in every High Street and buy it £2.69 or something like that for 50g or 100g, I have mine in a jar in the cupboard and need to get some more so I can let you know when I have got in on Monday if you like. Agave and Xylitol are both recommended for those who are diabetic or have candida but Agave has the lowest Glycemic index & glycemic load than any sweeter on the market today. You can purchase Agave from Tesco at £2.95 but I buy mine from various Health Food shops and it varies from £1.95 to £3.29 for organic brands. Agave is from the Blue Cactus which is where your tequila comes from. Xylitol is the sucrose from veg and fruit. Luv nne > Hi Angie> > I only use stevia as a sweetner and buy it off ebay in powder form it comes from canada, I use it from:
Guest guest
I have never had the runs from Xylitol, sorbitol on the other hand is definitely one of those things. Luv nne Xylitol or stuff like Sorbitol can give you the runs and can be most unpleasant. Lilian

Guest guest
Hi there Angie, If you can't get hold of any stevia then I'd recommend agave liquid. nne first put me on to it. Guest guest
Xylitol is NOT available from most Tesco's I have never found it in there anyway. Holland & Barrett however have a couple of choices. Ah, if your Tesco's has a Nutri Centre within it (Tesco Extra usually), they do the xylitol. Luv nne This is what I have read about Xylitol, so it looks as if it should be the sweetener of choice. I will be looking in Tescos for it. Xylitol has 40 per cent fewer calories

Guest guest
I heard that as well and have no idea if it is true, but then those who gives dogs human food should have a dog - there are so many things that they cannot have that it is best to not give them any of it. Like everything, you could be allergic to it and therefore need to keep away from it but I use it when baking for my hubby because weight gain is a nasty old thing and he likes his cookies and cakes so I lessen the problem for him as much as I can with xylitol & agave and I promise he has never had a problem with it at all and he is allergic to lots of things, dairy, wheat (he ignores this mostly), egg yolk, dust - you name it he is allergic to it. Luv nne Be careful of Xylitol I have heard it has killed some dogs, not sure how true. I have used some sweets with it in and it gives me serious diarrhea and a very bad tummy. Guest guest
Hi Angie, It's a sweet syrup obtained from a type of cactus plant. It's got a low GI so it's okay for diabetics and candida sufferers. I've been using it for some time, been making cakes and scones with it and even have it on toast sometimes when the craving hits.
