Guest guest
Where to buy coconut water? Most of the Asian markets carry coconut juice with added sugar and water. Whole Foods carries Vita Coco, 100% coconut water. I have mine auto-shipped monthly through Amazon.com which has a number of other brands available ... just type in coconut water and you will see the list. Guest guest
That was an interesting read, thanks. This is why I don't trust brands I don't know much about- such as Asian/Indian/Mexican stores, etc. I guess I could research each one though. Guest guest
Hi there We use our own supply all of our products come from the organic farm with partner with who are just outside Bangkok. The best thing is to maybeeeee sorry joke have a look on line if you have no joy I can get a price for you for ours and ship it. Its around $20 US for a kilo but the postage is about $20 also... Go for the graduals they are a little like ground coffee the tablets are not as good as they have been processed and you can't get the recommended dosage without taking lots at a time. Could I ask do you work in a hospital in Manila I though I read somewhere that a doctor you know uses the oil with his patients? Dxx Deborah on Founder +66 (0)857829019 deborah@... Guest guest
I used to use Cernitin flower pollen, which is harvested from plants, not taken from bees. So flower pollen should not give anyone wth bee sting allergies any problem. Bee pollen havesting can injure bees, so those who want foods which do not harm animals, might be more interested in flower pollen. Guest guest
I noticed the cocowater.com one has 11.4oz per container. Zico 11oz. The flavored ones at Amazon are $19.99 at the moment..another thing to consider. Anyone have time to figure it all out for us when someone is ready to order some? (can't hurt to ask..right?) Guest guest
, did I miss something about that article you posted??? It seemed to be saying that there were new process's where they could now bottle the CW and still retain most of the goodness. Or did I understand wrong. Also since that was written now 10 years ago does anyone know if the process has gotten better and that what we find at our health food stores is good. What they say is in the CW on the package I have here now sounds like it has a lot of goodness in it. Does Sev know anything??? Guest guest
Dear SeaLady, Greetings from the Philippines ! As I understand you're asking Banagale if there is something I know about the subject of tender coconut water (TCW) processing, the modern or latest ways. I have not done any work on this but per latest info I know, there are two recent reliable references. One is that of Dr Bruce Fife article ( Healthy Ways Newsletter, email edition, vol 4 No.4), titled Coconut Water: A rehydration beverage, in which Dr Fife provides us most of what we need to know about TCW. In passing, he mentioned the availability of packaged TCW in stores, in easy-to- carry cans, bottles and tetra paks, among many other things. The second reference is that of the New book " Coconut for Rural Welfare " under the chapter Coconut based Health foods and Beverages ( P. K. Thanpan and K.I.Vasu, editors), published 2007 by the Asia and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC), Djakarta, Indonesia, email: apcc@...; website: http:// www.apccsec.org.. From this book, may I extract some aspects on the subject TCW: (1) to preserve it as natural possible, refrigeration with proper packaging, minimal processing and heat, packing in suitable containers and carbonating (an option for soda TCW); (2) TCW alone or mixed with tender coconut meat kernel (TCM) is processed fro making soft drinks, nutritious health drinks and mixes; 3) DFRL (Mysore, India) under the sponsored project of the Coconut Development Board developed the technology of packaging TCW in aluminum cans and retortable pouches, with a shelf life of 3 months under ambient conditions and 6 months under refrigerated conditions; 4) the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has patented a technology for bottling TCW and marketing it as a sports drink, using microfiltration in which the coconut water is modified to approximate the vitamins and energy content of major sports drink; 5) other TCW variants are: (1) tender coconut water honey; (2) fruit juice blended TCW; (3) coconut water concentrate (develolped by M/S Winter Umwelttechnik, Germany) , with product retaining all the natural characteristics of TCW like the amino acids, vitamins, aroma, and taste. I'm stopping at this point to attend to my day's main tasks. Hoping, this helps. Cheers, Sev Magat KC <kaylee4848@...> wrote: , did I miss something about that article you posted??? Guest guest
Good tip which I have not heard. How much fat and calories and what does it cost relative to low sodium V-8. Coconut oil may not be the most healthy. But it does taste good to some. How much sodium? Guest guest
Dr. Grim: I pay roughly a buck and a half for an 11 oz serving; below is nutrition infor for 11 oz " ONE " 100% coconut water. I get it from Earth Fare, but I think Kroger, Whole Foods and other stores carry one brand or another. It is possible with Central And South American Hispanics as a form of electrolyte repletion. Taste is slightly sweet, maybe a little " earthy " , not bad at all. Guest guest
Coconut water comes from tender coconuts, that is coconut before they mature it contains more than a glass of water. Many ship wrecked people find themselves stranded on small islands which do not have any source of drinking water and the best way to survive is to look for coconuts as most islands have coconut trees growing in them as coconut travels through the ocean for miles together and get on shore of the islands where they grow to full trees. Only one should learn how to open a coconut and its a hard job if you dont know how to do it. Coconut water is excellent for hydration and it contains plentiful potassium and magnesium and it is a very pleasant to drink. Drink in excess you may have loose motion due to the excess minerals, but most people can have up to two coconuts for a time. Most people who take medicines should take coconut water as it does not interfere with other medications. Most tropical countries people drink a lot of coconut water to replace potassium lost due to perspiration and doctors prescribe it after hospitalization due to its likeness to saline injections or glucose. Commercially packed coconut water should indicate its contents on the packing and that should be helpful. Drink in moderation to make sure it agrees with your stomach. Ideal drink for rehydration after a rigourous activity which made you perspire From: angela147g <147g@...> Subject: Coconut water Coconut Oil Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 12:45 PM I came across an add for Coconut Water. Can someone please tell me what exactly coconut water is. I'm thinking it is the water that comes from the inside of the coconut when you first open it, but then having second thoughts thinking it might be something else. If it turns out that it is not that water that first comes out of the coconut and its something else, can someone please tell me what you would call that liquid also.
