Should I stop taking vitamin E (or anything else) for one month prior to the procedure? +++Hi Debbie, No, you would not stop any supplements prior to the procedure since all of the nutrients work together. To prepare for the extraction take extra vitamin C the day before. If it is under general anesthetic you would have to fast overnight. If it is going to be used you'd need to get extra vitamin C before the fasting time starts. You would usually take 4,000 mg vitamin C spread into 3 meals per day, so take the day before extraction take 2,000 mg more at lunch and supper. As soon after the extraction as possible take 4,000 mg vitamin C one time, and 1,000 mg every hour while you are awake, for 5-7 days. If you get loose stools at any time lower your hourly dose by 250 mg. After that go back to your usual 4,000 mg daily. All the best, Bee
