You might consider that (using whole fat dairy)... Good luck began 03/09/

I have spoken with him about our diet, but he is not interested in it. Do you think a lactase enzyme supplement can help him or is it a waste of money? +++Hi Raquel, Lactase is produced in the small intestines, and it only works in an alkaline environment. The small intestines must be alkaline in order for any digestive enzymes produced by the pancreas or the small intestines to work. So taking lactase by mouth is a waste since stomach acid neutralizes it, making it ineffective. Like wrote, butterfat helps us digest lactose and proteins in diary products, so your boyfriend may do okay having 10% butterfat (M.F. % on the label) half and half cream or higher, or sour cream, cheese, etc. that are higher in butterfat, but not whole milk which contains 3.5% M.F. (butterfat). All the best, Bee
