Hi, Stania,

>expensive? Is it available in Europe (Germany, France, GB)? Can MgSO4 be

>substituted by any other remedy? Anybody..?

I would be very surprised if the equivalent was not available in Europe.

Epsom salts is a brand name that has been taken over for generic (like

Kleenex or Xerox), and that particular brand may not be available; but the

equivalent surely is. Its use as a soak for various ailments goes way back,

at least 200 years.

Epsom salts is pretty much health/technical-grade MgSO4, and is the cheapest

form of Mg salts available as a supplement. I think that the MgSO4

specifically is best as a soak, but probably any Mg salt could be used

instead as a nutritional supplement.

Hi Jerry, I tried to find " magnesii sulfas heptahydricus " and it's available

only as a part of a laxative supp. Another possible substitute is s

Liver Salt which contains 1,76 g of magnesii sulfas siccus (and natrii

hydrogencarbonas and accidum citricum). For the liver flush they say one

should take one tblsp of Epsom salts (repeatedly) because it opens the

" valves " in liver tubing and thus enables the flushing out of the stones. I

wonder if s will do the same?

Stania,

I checked with my local pharmacy here in Holland. They do have

magnesium sulphate powder, E6.60 for 100 grams. I think that is more

expensive than in the US, but I would be happy to send you some if

you would like.

Matt, it's very kind of you. But in the meantime I have found a way how to

get Epsom salts from England. Thanks a lot anyway

Have a nice day

Dear Marjie and group:

I saw that salt (inexpensive and in large bags) at the hardware store here

and asked about it. The owner of the ACE hardware store told me that grade IS

NOT made for baths for humans. I am not sure if he is right now by reading

your posts. Please let me know how the salts work you two. Would like to hear

others opinions also.

Sincerely,

Rhonda

Dear Obie,

Any drug store or even grocery chain store carries Epsom salts.

It may not say 'oral' on the outside, so look for 'used for laxative

purposes'

or some such.

Up here, we buy it at Safeway.

Best of health!

Dear List. We're going to do a liver cleanse and in looking at the

formula, I see it calls for Oral Epson Salts. Is this a preparation we can

buy or do we make it with the chards of Epson Salts and water or something

else. Sounds dumb, hate to ask such a question but I just don't know.

Help! Obie.

If this is to keep clostridia at bay we have used sachromyces boulardii effectively to do this- perhaps its worth asking Dr H about it?

Epsom salts

Can anyone tell me where I can buy Epsom salts in bulk in the Uk please? We use them rapidly and it is costing me a fortune. I bought a load from the Breakspear but am running out and don't fancy the postage!!Also, Dr H suggested I use Culturelle but my son is gf/cf and just read that Culturelle is based on whey & has trace casein. Before I go back to Dr H to query just wanted to hear if others have used?Finally, (sorry for all questions) We are about to start chelation - my son is very high in lead (Dr H said he had never seen such a high lead reading in any other child he has treated!)He also showed mercury. I am presuming that Dr H will want to use DMSA. Been reading all the NDF+ and PCX discussions. I wanted to ask all you 'experienced' chelators where/how you would start? I am worried about all the 'good'stuff that chelation also pulls and heard Lang's comments about releasing more toxins than the body can excrete etc. Doing nothing is not an option - can't leave all that lead in there but I am worried about effects. Anything I can do to minimise?Thanks - Gail & #9786;

I also use Justasoap - worth getting the great big bag - we've had

ours for three months and Tom bathes almost every night. Only about

half used and so much cheaper than boxes from Boots.

That would be low frequent dosing of DMSA BTW

Epsom salts baths are used to boost sulfate levels which are often low

in ASD kids. Sulphate is used to detoxify things like phenols and this

mechanism doesn't work efficiently when sulphate is low. See the

article in the files.

We've had some interesting conversations here on the uses of

magnesium for joint, bone, and muscle pain. Many of us (me included)

enjoy epsom salt baths as one way to get a little extra mg when we're

feeling sore and crashy. It's also apparently very commonly used in

the autism and Alzheimer's communities as well.

Thanks to one of these conversations last January, I started taking

500mg of magnesium and 150 of p5p (its cofactor) every day. Even

though I'm mostly recovered and not much sore, it made a startling

improvement in the overall comfort of my body. There was still low-

grade pain I didn't even know I had until I didn't have it anymore.

Quite a relief.

In other news: I'm on my third day of liposomal glutathione. I'm

taking 1.5t morning and evening, per Essential Wellness'

instructions. Wow. I'm clearly getting more of the good stuff than I

do from my shots. Am a little wiped out today, but it's a good happy-

body sort of wiped out, like my immune system is busy getting things

cleared up. And still no reaction to the soy lecithin in the

lipsomes, which had been a worry.

This could be good.

Homozon only has magnesium oxide in it. I did a flush with homozon

instead of epsom salt. It worked " okay " but wasn't quite as good as the

epsom salts.

started with 2 teaspoons and worked up to 2 cupfulls

every night if you do it slowly you will be able to

see whether your child can cope with it if you should

get a negative reaction just put a little less in the

next time.

Rita & Mike- As I keep saying- it seems that natural, simple things

that come from good ol' mother nature are what work best for these

things and man-made medicines and chemicals seem to make them worse.

Thank you for the great advice! (I've had these things for over 2

years too) I'll be trying this as soon as possible...

One more thing, I wonder if consuming large amounts of salt would be

beneficial to cleanse these things from the inside of our bodies?

If so, does anyone have any advice or input as to how much would be

good or if too much (or any) would be harmful?

Can you consume epsom salts? Are they toxic?

Thank you-
