Guest guest
I'm so happy to hear that the salt is helping you. My husband and I don't feel the itching or pin pricks any more and we have been using the salt since the 13th...that is only four days ago. We soak all our bedding and clothing over night in just plain water making sure all the fabric is completely submerged. We are using salt water solution on everything we can. I pray that this keeps working and we will all have our normal lives retuned to us soon. Rita Epsom Salts Hi Everyone,I have been using the Epsom Salts/water mix for a couple of days on my skin and my skin is definitely improving. Have any of you had the same success? I also find that a little borax and apple cider vinegar mixed in with my shampoo helps. I rinse that out and then I pour the Epsom Salt/water mixture over my scalp but leave that in. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions in fighting these invisible demons!Lady Dee No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Lady Dee- yes, I'm having the same results with the salt and blow dryer idea. I actually drank 2 tablespoons of epsom salts dissolved in distilled water last night as well and if you try this- WATCH OUT! I haven't been far from the bathroom for long since about 2 hours after doing this... It really cleans your pipes if you know what I mean! I think this is a good thing too because if they don't like it on the outside of your body, they shouldn't like it on the inside either. I have also been told that apple cider vinegar is excellent to drink once in the morning and once in the evening too AND it's supposed to be effective to get these things out of your plumbing if you pour 1/2 cup down your drains once per week. I'll keep yo posted. som > > Hi Everyone, > > I have been using the Epsom Salts/water mix for a couple of days on my > skin and my skin is definitely improving. Guest guest
<<I have been doing the epsom salts for a couple of days and it it really drying out my skin. Any suggestions?” I might have an idea. Why don’t you mix and/or desolve the salt in a warmed-up (not heated!) good carrier oil. Heck, it could be extra virgin olive oil if you like and don’t mind the smell J …. Other good suggestions for oils are: Almond Oil (Sweet) Prunus amygdalus, P. dulcis: Sweet almond oil is obtained from the nut of the tree, which is native to Asia and the Mediterranean. This oil is a favorite carrier oil for essential oil aromatherapy blends, although it’s often used by itself for moisturizing skin. The oil has no scent and is a great nutrient for softening and conditioning the skin. It's been known to be especially suitable for eczema, itchy, dry and inflamed skin. It’s very lubricating but not very penetrating. Since it contains glucosides, vitamins and minerals, it makes a fabulous massage oil. It’s widely used in lotions, lotion bars, balms and soap. Apricot Oil : Apricot Kernel is a light but rich oil which is especially good for sensitive skin, as well as for and skin that is inflamed or dry. It can be used alone or in massage and is used quite often in lip balms and creams. It is particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature or sensitive skin. It has a high vitamin A content. Avocado Oil : Avocado oil nourishes and restores dry, dehydrated, and mature skin. It is a rich, heavy oil that is best blended with other carrier oils. Skin problems, especially eczema and psoriasis, respond to its high content of vitamins A and E. Avocado oil is added to carrier oils, in a 10%-20% dilution, as an aid to skin moisturizing. This is a highly therapeutic oil which is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, vitamins D and E, protein, pantothenic acid, and fatty acids. Sesame Oil : This oil is rich in vitamins and minerals. Its vitamin E content gives the oil excellent stability. Some of its recommended uses are for psoriasis, eczema, arthritis, and as a skin softener. It’’s an oil which is gaining a lot of popularity as a tanning oil. It’s recommended that this oil be used as a base or in a 10%-15% dilution. It’s beneficial for rheumatic and skin conditions, psoriasis, dry eczema and broken veins. Shea Butter : Shea butter is also called African Karité butter. We offer filtered (with slight odor) and ultrarefined (no odor) shea butter, both are expressed from the pits of the fruit of the African butter tree. Both are smooth and creamy and ultrarefined is much whiter than filtered. Our shea butter is cold expeller pressed and carbon treated to remove the impurities. It is not solvent extracted, but mechanically extracted. There are no impurities whatsoever. Shea is extremely moisturizing and gentle to the skin. In soaps, it gives a very luxurious feel to the finished product. Sunflower Oil : Sunflower oil has a light texture and is pleasant to use. It contains vitamins A, C, D, and E, a high linoleic acid content, and few saturated fatty acids. This oil is easily absorbed and can be used on all skin types. Its high vitamin E content makes it especially helpful for delicate and dry skin. It has a protective effect on the skin and is healing when applied to leg ulcers, bruises and skin diseases Wheat Germ Oil: It’s also very rich in vitamin E, a natural antioxidant. Based on this, it can be added to other carrier oil sot act as a preservative. Wheat germ oil can be used to nourish dry or cracked skin and soothes skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis; also helps to prevent and reduce scarring and may prevent stretch marks. Mature skin, in particular, will benefit from wheat germ Add some insecticidal essential oils, such as: Fennel, Geranium or Lemon Essential Oil – and this might be the perfect brew! Guest guest
Dear SOM, Thanks so much for the warning! I am work and just checked in to see how the Epsom salts were working for everyone and I can see that they worked TOO well for you (LOL). Seriously, thanks for letting me know...I was thinking about trying some internally but I think I will wait on that! I am so glad that it is working on your skin. I am trying to be patient as I want these demons to be gone " yesterday " as I am sure we all do! That was wonderful that Rita shared her remedy with us! I hope and pray that it will be the silver bullet we all need! Guest guest
I've been getting good results with the salt as well but my skin is drying out pretty fast too. Esp. my hands. I'm going to try the salt only on the scalp to since that's where most of the crawling goes on. Thanks- MM > > > > I'm so happy to hear that the salt is helping you. Guest guest
this is a problem for me, too, the drying out of the skin. from what i hear, we are supposed to keep our skin all lathered up with lotions, but doing this epsom salt thing, really dries up the skin. i'm going to do this again tonight. i was using vaseline mixed with sulfur before bed. i did pretty good last night, not alot of bites. mel"hunger.stryke" <cyndilees@...> wrote: I have been doing the epsom salts for a couple of days and it it really drying out my skin. Guest guest
I know it's hard to make a decision on what is the best thing to do about this invasion on our skin. I caught this 2 years ago. I don't work out side the home and I have fought this on a continuing basis every month, every day, every second. Most of the time I have kept my skin and hair oiled and greased 24/7....it was not working for me. I started moving toward drying agents. It seemed the drier I made the "things" environment the better I was getting. I knew to put a salt water rinse on dogs in order to kill the fleas and this thought kept creeping into my brain. So, I tired it on myself. The following night my husband salted his skin down. Our skin has been steadily improving since the first day we dried the salt water on us. Living with these "things" on my skin has been the most painful days of my life. 8 months into the fight against these things my skin had suffered so much that I gave up on trying to help and restore my skin and hair, I only looked and hunted for the "killer"....I wanted to kill what ever was on my skin. I wish I could think of an easier way to dry up the world of these "things" but the heavy salt water solution is the only way my burned out brain can think of to do this and thank God it has worked for us. We ripped our home apart to try and get rid of these things and I'm hoping that we are now on the down hill side and the hope of a normal life is around the next bend. God bless all of you and I pray that the night mare is almost over you also. Guest guest
Rita, Do you thind that the dogs may be contributing to your continued infesttation? I have removed my dog for 2 weeks, treated the house like crazy. She got better and so did I. Now she has been back for 2 weeks and I am as bad as ever and so is she. I dip her once a week in lime/sulfer and spray her with it 2 times/day. I have also been spraying her and my house with salt. I am now at the point where I feel I have to put her down in order to beat this thing and it is killing me. Cyndi > > > > I'm so happy to hear that the salt is helping you. Guest guest
Steph, Epsom Salts is magnesium sulphate. Hugh Epsom salts I am not sure what epsom salts is made from and if I can recall correctly, years ago I tried it and it made me very sick. Will consider it again when I find out what is in it. Guest guest
Hugh, I am taking lots of magnesium. What is the difference between that and the sulfate? Steph
Guest guest
Not sure, but epsom salts are used in liver cleanses. They relax the liver so that stones will be expelled. I don't know the mechanism, just that epsom salts make one go. Hugh Re: Epsom salts Hugh, I am taking lots of magnesium. What is the difference between that and the sulfate? Guest guest
Lady Dee,I have been doing the Epsom Salt 2 times a day for 1 full month now. I do not mix a new batch every time - just whenever I run out. (I keep it in an old windex bottle). I havent seen a difference fresh or old, works just the same.It works wonders. I feel 98% better. However, I'm still looking for that magic final bullet to put an end to my misery. I'm wondering if that bullet is time. Epsom Salts Hi Everyone, Just a couple of questions for those of you using Epsom Salt in spray bottles. Do you find that Epsom Salts lose their effectiveness if you don't mix up a new batch every time and the solution sits overnight? Or does that matter in killing off these things in your experience? Thanks! Lady Dee Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
Guest guest
Thanks le, I have been using the old batch, too (although as fast as I am going through it, it doesn't have long to get old!) I, too am about 90-95% better but I keep picking these things up from the environment or here at work. It is a challenge to fight these demons on so many fronts but like you say, maybe we need to give it some time. What state are you from by the way? I am in California. Guest guest
Lady Dee,I live in New York City. I am scared I will have to fight these things come summer - NYC is known for its brutal humidity - which I feel may only agitate my battle. One plus is that in Manhattan - I don't own a car. Therefore its not a source of reinfestation. However running around on your feet everywhere calls for constant sweating - and living in a confined small apartment. That isn't helping anything either.I read Rita's Salt post a month ago and immediately jumped on the band wagon. Its the only thing that has helped me through this whole thing. Guest guest
le, Yes, humidity doesn't help. Do you have a de-humidifier? I owned one when I lived in PA years ago. They do help. Yes, Rita's concoction has been a God-send to us all! I just want those things to be gone " yesterday " as we all do! How do you think you picked them up originally or do you know? Thanks. Guest guest
, steeping feet in Epsom salts will probably improve circulation and relieve a magnesium deficiency. Both are important. all good, Duncan > > can anyone tell me of benefits derived from steeping feet in epsom salts > > maria >
Guest guest
I put epsom salts in my bath. Calluses on feet soften up and can more easily be removed. I have hard brittle nails. After a soak, nails can be more easily trimmed. Plus all the benefits of trans-dermal Magnesium. http://www.mgwater.com/transdermal.shtml Alobar On Fri, Aug 28, 2009 at 2:17 PM, duncancrow<duncancrow@...> wrote: > , steeping feet in Epsom salts will probably improve circulation and relieve a magnesium deficiency. Guest guest
Epsoms salts have many benefits, you can read about some of them at Wikipedia <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epsom_salt> . They also can draw out toxins and they're used in liver and kidney cleanse recipes. The effect of the magnesium in it is rather shor-lived though.
