Guest guest
It is not just having Achondroplasia, but also being in my mid-thirties I noticed that lately I do have a lack of energy for things. I was with my friend's children and they certainly seem like the Energizer Bunny while I felt like I needed to be energized. lol :-O I think getting good sleep, eating properly, taking vitamins and not overdoing it usually works. One other thing is wearing good walking shoes especially if you are with children cause they can keep you up and down and running every which way but loose. lol Helen

Guest guest
I had that. My first 2 weeks were bad. No energy, starved, crabby, sore. By the 4th week I felt on top of the world. I could do anything. Just hang in there & make sure you are getting enough sleep. you might need more sleep in the first few week while your body gets use to BFL. You are working your muscle differantly than before & you are eating difenrant now. You body is saying 'hey what the heck is goin on here? You are making my work! I don't like it.' Give it some time. In a few weeks you will fell great. You body may be going though a healing crisis. I'll post an artical I wrote about that. Take care Dani > this is my week #2 and i'm doing well so far, i think. > > my problem is that by early afternoon, i'm wiped out. i experience a > fantastic surge of energy after my morning workout, but then want to > curl up in a ball and sleep by noon. > > how do i know if i'm eating properly (the right amount?). i eat > cottage cheese with high fiber cereal first and then a few hours > later i drink mrm protein powder mixed with nonfat milk. i eat > healthy foods in the afternoon and somehow, SOMEHOW resist the urge > to eat the junk food my mind so desperately wants sometimes. i'm 5'2 " > and weigh 125 lbs. > > thanks for your help > > zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I'm painfully unsavy on this site and am not sure where to find your article. I'd really like to read it. Guest guest
How much sleep are you getting each night? I average about 7.5 hours during the week, and I can usually get in 8 or 9 on the weekend nights. That sometimes helps. Naps are nice too when you an grab one. Guest guest
You are right. Now that I think about it I average 6.5 to 7 hours of sleep a night and then have my sleep interrupted by my kids during the night usually. I will make an effort to change that and see if it helps. Thanks. > > Hi Everyone, > > I just recently joined the group and am on my last 4 weeks of my > > first challenge. Guest guest
I was on another body for life group (that was less wonderful) but for energy, they suggested taking vitamin C in the afternoon and I think you can get liquid B-12 and drink that mixed with ice water in the afternoon for a boast. Wonder if you need some more carbs in the afternoon? I would go to a vitamin store and ask about the vitamen C drink for energy - those ladies on the other website mentioned the name of this drink but I cannot remember it. > Hi Everyone, > I just recently joined the group and am on my last 4 weeks of my > first challenge. Guest guest
For perspective.....I am hitting my five year anniversary with my ICD soon. Some of what you see on here is that those of us who have had our ICD's for a while have come to accept that life is forever changed for us. Not that we like it this way but after a while you just have to adjust. It does however help to know that there are others who are feeling this way and it is not a problem with you personally but a fact of life with heart problems. Hi, everyone! I joined this list in September...and just about gave up on it until this week. It seemed that you folk were adjusting well to life with an ICD, laughing and joking your way along. That has not been my experience at all. Since that time, I've seen multiple specialists, gotten a bit stronger and (with the help of anti-depressants) have found some equilibrium with adjusting to ICD living and a limited amount of energy/heart function. Thank heavens I decided to read some of the "lack of energy" notes - I thought I was having some kind of breakdown. I work part time and often find that the next day I just kind of sleep the day away. And I was wondering if it is depression...or actual physical exhaustion. At any rate, it does help to hear that others are having the same problems. Best to all - mac+
Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. I am 6 wks post op and I get really tired too. I almost require a nap daily. I think just the huge changes going on in our bodies with this surgery and healing takes alot out of you.....do you take iron? I had one blood transfusion in the hospital and I know even with getting the blood back it can take awhile to build back up... take naps and let your body heal.... Guest guest
I'm 44 and I was tired after my TKR. ly, I'm about 9 months out and still not quite up to my original stamina though all the pain is gone and I'm walking so much better than before the pain started. I just spent this last week with bronchitis and it has reminded me that healing bodies need lots of rest. I feel so week and listless because I can't catch my breath. After TKR surgery your body has to utitlize all it's stores for knitting bone and such back together. That wears you out. Besides, all growing and healing can only occur during rest, preferably sleep so your body is just trying to get you to slow down long enough to make new cells and such. -----Original Message-----From: Joint Replacement [mailto:Joint Replacement ]On Behalf Of mcfair1935Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 1:51 PMJoint Replacement Subject: Lack of Energy Hi folks, I'm new to the group but am learning a lot from readingearlier mail. Guest guest
Hi , I too had the problem with feeling fairly lethargic after my last surgery. I went to my family physican who ordered alot of bloodwork and he determined that I was anemic. It was probably from having 2 extensive surgeries within 10 months time. He recommended taking daily vitamins along with iron. I am also going to go to a nutritionist to help with eating correctly. Good Luck. > > Hi folks, I'm new to the group but am learning a lot from reading > earlier mail. I'm 10 weeks post RTKR and am doing well. Since you just joined our group yesterday are you doing my candida program, or another one? My candida program is very different than any others and that's why it helps anyone improve their health whether they have candida or not. If you aren't on my candida program I wouldn't want to get your diet and supplements lists since I would not be able to advise you unless you're on my program. People on my program get predictable symptoms and reactions so I can advise them. Of course everything (diet and supplements) on my program work together, and there's very few supplements recommended. So please do the " required reading, " rules and introduction emailed to you when you joined, so you can become a fully functioning member of this group. If you didn't keep them, here's the important articles: How to Successfully Overcome Candida: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro2.php Curing Candida, How to Get Started: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro1.php For encouragement and inspiration see these 200 wonderful Success Stories by members of this group: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/success/index.php The best in health, Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, Thanks for answering. Yes I'm doing your candida diet program & I've been surfing your web site for the past 10 months. I've red all the candida articles you mentioned. I tried your candida diet last august for 1 month & felt the same way I'm feeling now so at that time i decided to stop. I'm suffering from heartburn which is eating at my throat slowly but surely. So I decided to heal myself by eating well. Your diet helped me get off the anti acid pills & my " breakouts " as I call them are less frequent & intense. I wrote to you after 3 months because the lack of energy I'm always feeling prevents me to fully appreciate the time I spend with my 15 month old daughter & prevents me from functioning properly at work. At first I thought it was the " die off " , but now I'm not so sure. I'm following the supplement doses & the diet you recommend on your site. I went from 70kg to 63 kg since I began. I can honestly say that I don't have one ounce of fat on my body. I measure 1m & 75cm & I have an moderate active lifestyle. I'm just trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong because i really believe in your program, it makes sense to me. Whole foods will heal your body & keep you healthy. Please pardon my English I'm french Canadian. Regards 2011/4/19 Bee <beeisbuzzing2003@...> @@ Snip > > +++Hi , > > Welcome to our group. That's good you are off anti-acids and that your breakouts are better! Since you had heartburn before starting on this program your body will be " retracing it " as it heals itself, as explained in this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal10.php You can help it by mixing 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda (not baking powder) in about 4-5 ounces of non-chlorinated water, and just sip it until your heartburn subsides. However, I had horrible heartburn before I healed and there didn't seem to be much I could do to alleviate it when my body was retracing, since it seems Nature takes over. Your hope is in the rules on natural healing, that it takes 1 month of healing for every year you've been unhealthy, and it also takes 1 month for every year you've had a particular symptom. So if you had heartburn for like I did, off and on, for over 20 years, you will get retracing of it off and on the same way, but it will not be all of the time. If episodes lasted say 2 days, take what percent of 1 year 2 days is, and take that same percent of 1 month, which will give you the time each episode will take. In fact all disease processes are exactly the same as healing and detoxifying processes created by the body itself in an effort to maintain its health, in spite of poor nutrition, toxins, etc. As Taubes writes in his book Good Calories, Bad Calories, p. 142: " . . .the fundamental feature of all living organisms is the interdependence of the parts of the body to the whole . . . " " . . .all physiological systems [body processes] have to work together to assure survival. " " . . all of the vital mechanisms [processes], however varied they may be, have only one object, that of preserving constant the conditions of life in the internal environment. " However, the medical industry labels each and every " sign " of poor health as separate dis-eases, illnesses, symptoms, syndromes, etc. which are actually normal body reactions and processes. In other words, they are simply " signs " the body is attempting to restore its own balance, which is called Homeostasis. As Florence Nightengale, the famous nurse, says: " There are no specific diseases; there are [only] specific disease conditions. " People on this healthy program are giving their bodies what they need to become healthy, so they are now able to progress towards health rather than become more and more unhealthy, or dis-eased. In other words, their body must now " reverse " all of the disease processes. In order to feel more secure that you are doing everything right and progressing towards health read more about how the body heals itself naturally: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu1_2.php All the best, Bee
