Guest guest
Dear Bee and everyone, I just got Bee's last email with the info about Natural Factors. But since I had already typed all the following up, I thought I'd send it anyway in case anyone's interested. The bottom line is that Natural Factors does seem like the best choice, as Bee just wrote. COUNTRY LIFE http://www.countrylifevitamins.com/moreinfo.cfm?Category=14 & Product_ID=181 Vitamin A 10,000 IU Vitamin D (as D3) 400 IU Country Life's nutritionist Flax confirmed that these vitamins are indeed from cod liver oil, and not synthetic. However, the soybean oil is basically a filler, and NOT a component of the softgel capsule. So even if you were to prick the capsule and consume only the oil, you'd be consuming soybean oil. And she said the soybean oil IS from GMO soybeans. Also, I'm wondering if it's okay to get our Vitamin D only in D3 form? Wouldn't we need other forms? NATURE'S LIFE http://www.iherb.com/Nature-s-Life-A-D-10-000-IU-400-IU-100-Softgels/24003?at=0 Vitamin A 25,000 IU To quote the product information specialist I spoke to over the phone: " 40% of this is as fish liver oil. 60% is as beta carotene, which is derived either from sea algae or synthetic. " I asked, " Would the synthetic be derived from soy? " She replied, " No, it would be manufactured in a laboratory, not derived from soy. " Vitamin D 1,000 IU. Taking this product with 1 TBL Garden of Life Cod Liver Oil would mean we would get 40,000 IU Vitamin A and 1,600 Vitamin D, which is well over the amounts Bee suggests we take. So I'll stick with Natural Factors.
