Guest guest
Hi, I have a few questions to ask all of you. Has anyone ever heard of " Tahitian Noni Juice " ? I've heard it is good for the liver and a number of other things. Is it safe to take St. 's Wort with hep C? Does anyone have a list of the foods, herbs, and drugs that shouldn't be consumed with hep C? Thank you, Cleo
Guest guest
Hi Cleo, I've never heard of this juice. The only herb that I know is supposed to help protect the liver is Milk Thistle. I would think that you can take St. 's Wort, since I'm was taking anti-depressants all the time, even when on the Interferon. I think that it's good to stay away from cold and cough medicines that contain alcohol, since alcohol is like poison to your liver. I just bought a new book, " Living with Hepatitis C - A Survivor's Guide " , by T. Everson, M.D. It was just published in 1998 so it's got a lot of up to date info. You can get it on the internet from Amazon.com or probably at a book store. The author is the Director of Hepatology at the Univ. of Colorado Health Sciences Center. There's a chapter in this book entitled " Taking Care of Yourself Nutritianally " . I wish I'd had this book earlier, it's packed with useful information. There are some good web sites on Hepatitis C, one is called Hep Net. They have info on nutrician and lots more. Also the American Liver Foundation will send you free info if you ask them. Oh Yes, my doctor said to distilled water, about 2 quarts a day. It will help your liver and keep you from becoming dehydrated if you get on interferon therapy. Good luck with your search. Take care of yourself. Marie At 09:29 PM 1/16/99 EST, you wrote: >From: CleoraB@... > >Hi, I have a few questions to ask all of you. >Has anyone ever heard of " Tahitian Noni Juice " ? Guest guest
Lehnanne, I can speak from personal experience (I've been in the Navy 14 yrs and worked in Security/Brigs for 7 of those). A Capts. Mast (Office hours for the non-Navy types, or Art. 15.... whatever ya wanna go by) can be as fast or as long and drawn out as the military chooses to make it. I have seen some where the person went to XOI and waited in limbo for weeks *That's really stressful on them as legal personnel usually deny knowing any dates*, I've seen others where the person was in the CO's office within the same day or even hours. I've seen some Courts-Martials held within a day or two of mast. Those are just a few of the personal experiences I have had. As a little side note to all concerned, I took the first shot. It created more pain than I was in prior too and have now been waived from further vaccination thru medical until they can figure out what's goin on with me.... Kinda interesting huh? >From: " Lehnanne DeiziaLoup " <sisternet@...> >Reply-onelist ><onelist> >Subject: Questions >Date: Thu, 14 Oct 1999 21:31:27 -0400 > >Hello all ... >I have a question ... today my husband refused the shot .. he goes tomorrow >to watch the video on Anthrax ... >He has already refused to follow a direct order ... if he continues to >refuse after tomorrows video ... he will go to Captain's Mast on monday > >Okay here is the question ... is it normally this fast? >I was under the assumption that it was drawn out ... >Has anyone read the article in the 18 Oct 99 Navy Times? >About the sailor in San Diego who refused? > >It has been 2 weeks or more and there was no mention as to what sort of >punishment he was receiving and already my husband is standing Captains >Mast? > >Okay .. just wondering. > >Lehnanne >
Guest guest
Part of the answer to you husbands expedited process could be due to the commander. You see, the military has so many people that the big commanders cannot possibly be involved with every issue and every person. It has been the way of the DOD - throughout history - to allow unit commanders to make decisions about what to do with their own people. On on hand, two people who commit the same offense, could receive two completely different punishments. That the down side. On the other hand, commanders should know their people, thus allowing them to make the best decision for each individual situation. Good luck. > >Lehnanne >

Guest guest
My husband refused the anthrax on May 12. He received no time to watch a video or talk to a doctor. The only person he was allowed to talk to was a nurse who told him that his command had the option to hold him down and immunize him at their discretion. He got a field grade article 15 on 24 May. His chapter was started on 26 May. It is 19 October and we are still here. Everyone else we have been reading about has gotten out pretty quick. Good luck. Guest guest
I don't have experience with a Beck pulser, but I do with a BioMedici magnetic pulser. I use it to get temporary pain relief (for arthritis pain). And it does work really well, it seems to be a pain pill replacement at this point--I haven't tried it long enough to know if it has longer term help (3 months so far). But it's great because my Darvocet doesn't touch my neck pain and this does in 10 minutes or less--it's gone. Guest guest
I understand what you are saying. I am building the Beck device. One thing I will say however, is that the FDA and the AMA really has a stranglehold on our medical system, and many legitimate products are kept from public consumption. As far as Bob Beck goes, his credentials, although not an automatic right of passage, does beg the question what if he is right? Safety of his device really is a non-subject in my opinion, since other FDA devices that use much higher electrical current have been approved for medical use (TENS, CES, etc.). Isn't it strange that probably 99% of all prescriptions are chemically derived from a pharmaceutical firm? I've yet to see a prescribed medicine that is of natural origin, with the exception of maybe aspirin and vitamin E plus a few others. If a person can't see what's going on here, he needs to have his head examined (by a state licensed psychiatrist of course). Now, Bob Beck has an updated research document which I am going to be receiving shortly. Hopefully it will shed some light on any new or past information. A larger question that has emerged in my mind however is why the patents from the doctors at Albert Einstein (from which Beck derived his idea for his device) have not been brought to the table and studied further. If his theories and device are legitimate, can you imagine how this would upset the medical world? I know a person who owns a unit and has used it per the instructions. Since he was not ill (at least not visibly), he can't say whether or not it did anything for him. He also has the Brain Tuner and does say it in fact works according to Beck's protocol. So, I guess one must do his own research and decide, unless hard evidence is brought foward. If I had cancer or some other debilitating disease, lack of hospital testing sure wouldn't stop me from using alternative methods. I have used some " way out " things for my father's illness (diabetes and skin cancer) with success so I don't discount anything out of hand at first glance. Good Luck. Guest guest
hi suzanne! all i can tell you is that no two cases are alike. count yourself lucky that you don't have aches and pains, or are plagued by sore throats. i've never had a lot of the ache & pain, either, nor been particularly bothered by a lot of sore throats, since very early in the illness. i've been ill since 1980. the fatigue and neuro/cog problems/symptoms have definitely increased since then. you could get worse, or not. nobody knows, or could predict for sure. but i believe we'll all be cured, or at least successfully treated long before you have to worry about it. @}{~{<<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ debbie s. - dlsherman@... Guest guest
Suzanne-every body progresses differently.....some people have constant illness that never gets better...some get worse...some get better...there really is no way to accurately predict....although I would have to say that if you don;t have a lot of symptoms and it has been four years your chances are probably better.....I am 30 years old and got sick when I was 19.....My symptoms were very similiar to yours----the constant fatigue was the bigges----I did not have a big problem with the flu-like symptoms...I also have no pain.....I do have immune dysfunction .......some of my blood tests come up abnormal-my cd4's are low and cd8's are high! This isdifferent thatn most people with cfids...........People that have the high cd8's usually have more symptoms and have allergies and chemical sensitivieties...I have none of these....what you need to do is see how your immune systme is functioning and go form there.....everybody responds different to different things and it helps to know exaclty what is going on with your immune system! Questions Hi all, I have a few quick questions that maybe you all can help me with. My doc says I have CFS because of positive HHV5 and active EBV. I am wondering why my only symptom is severe fatigue? Why not aches, and sore throats, and etc? Why are some worse off than others? Can this progress? I am so scared that I am going to end up bed ridden. One more thing...have any of you (women) noticed any hormone change that started all of this? It seems like when I went on the BC pill this all started and is getting worse. I also developed vulvodynia at that time. It is as if my whole body is out of whack. Any ideas?? I am only 22 and have been like this for 4 years now. Thanks for your help, Suzanne This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each other, not to give medical advice. If you are interested in any treatment discussed here, please consult your doctor.

Guest guest
Hey everyone, I would like you to meet my firend Liz. I have been telling her about how great the list is and how she can go there for answers to those many questions we have. The list has helped me so much with Amber, I hope we will all show Liz how great the list can be. Welcome Liz, I'm glad you decided to join us. It's more likely he's having trouble with the protein in the formula. If your child is spitting up a lot or not gaining weight appropriately, ask your doctor about trying one of the hypoallergenic formulas. Len Leshin, M.D., F.A.A.P.
