Guest guest
As a Georgia resident, every year we have to essentially re-document that our son Jimmy still has spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy, which is quite an asinine requirement. I'm in the process of completing this annual task. It includes a medical history, a daily care plan, a letter of medically necessity from his pediatrician, and a psychological examination. The whole thing has always seemed quite invasive and redundant and unnecessary. Our son's condition is chronic and not going away. I've got expert witness testimony from the state's expert witnesses to that effect. Why am I going through this every year? (On the plus side, I use the opportunity to document extensively all the illegal activities of the Georgia Department of Community Health [DCH] and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. This documentation is automatically admissible in any future court proceeding since DCH has already accepted it and DCH cannot deny or prevent its admission.) The psychological exam component was instituted maybe 20 years ago and is probably a violation of the child's HIPPA rights these days. I'm just curious what the requirements are for maintaining Medicaid eligibility in other states. Thanks. There are many out there you touch who go unnamed where your outreach, though apparently silent at times, is improving the lives of many All of us must keep the struggle going and your efforts are tops. For instance my wife and I worked on an International Treaty at the United Nations as AD Hoc NGO working group on a Convention for the Protection of Rights and Dignity of People with Disabilities, for over 10 years before we were able to present to UN members a request they Ratify the treaty. We achieved ratification by the 100th Country last week. President Obama has signed the Treaty where it now awaits Senate Ratification. Just an example how one must not let a moment go by when it looks daunting. Here is the Treaty which now gives a voice and oversight of neglect and or abuse by Countries who ignore our voiceless ones. _UN Enable - Convention on the Rights of Persons with ..._ (http://www.un.org/disabilities/default.asp?id=150) _PowerPoint - Convention in Brief_ (http://www.un.org/disabilities/documents/ppt/crpdbasics.ppt) this is a powerful powerpoint which explains why and what. We are off to Washington DC next seek where we will meet with each and every Congressional office by appointment with our agenda's advocacy. Ed and Virginia Carraway Ed & Virginia L.
