Guest guest
I wanted to post this for those who may not have seen it, in response to a recent episode of American Idol. It is another great testimonial to the work of Dr. Harch and the power of HBOT when it's done right. From: Tina Marie <hbotsaveslives@...> Date: January 26, 2011 10:11:35 PM CST medinamusic@... Subject: na's TBI (please read Chris) Hi I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Tina Hecker. I was watching American Idol a few minutes ago and heard your story. I understand your fiance has a traumatic brain injury as a result of her car accident. I too know how it is to deal with a loved one who suffers from a TBI. My husband, Tim, is a soldier in the Army. He has served since 1989. He deployed to Iraq in 1990, and again in 2007. He returned home in 2008 with an undiagnosed brain injury after being involved with multiple IED (improvised explosive device) attacks. We have struggled ever since to help him regain his life. I may never hear back from you, but as I watched na tonight, I felt compelled to at least attempt to contact you. I am not a doctor, I am not a solicitor, I am just someone who faces the same struggles as you. You said, " What kind of man would I be if I left her when she needed me the most? " For almost three years, I have been saying, " if I don't fight for Tim's life, who will? " When we first began our journey in June 2008, my husband's deficits were unclear. To look at him from the outside, Tim looks like every other normal person. He began to deteriorate before our eyes. He had daily migraines. He couldn't find his way to the gas/grocery store without getting lost. He didn't remember how to get to our house. He would begin a sentence and forget what he was saying. He lost all short term memory. He lost most long term memory. He doesn't remember us getting married. He didn't remember any of our three children being born. He didn't remember friends or family. He could not leave our home without his GPS. His days were filled with sitting in a chair and staring out the window. I could give you a list a mile long of issues that began to present themselves. The doctors didn't admit to us until January 2009 that his CT scans showed a right orbital fracture, which furthered evidence of a brain injury. I searched daily for possible treatments for brain injuries. We've always been told that we only have one brain and once it is injured, it can not be fixed. I would hope you all haven't been told that same thing. In March 2009, I came across information about a treatment that has truly given Tim his life back. I made a call about a pilot study being run in Louisiana, dealing with soldiers who had TBI's and/or PTSD. This treatment is called Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or HBOT. The doctor's name is Dr. Harch. My husband walked in for his first treatment with a migraine. He walked out after, the migraine was gone, and he hasn't had one since. He has regained about 80% of his long term memory up to the age of 35. His memories between 35 and 40 years old are still sketchy. His short term memory and cognitive levels are still low, but MUCH better than they were when we began our journey. He has began to hunt and fish again. I have first hand seen the wonders of Dr. Harch's HBOT. I have seen patients who were wheelchair bound begin to walk assisted and feed themselves after treatment. I have watched patients with 30 seizures a day, drop to 3 a day after 40 treatments. I have known patients who were able to ween off seizure medications all together. I believe there is a chance that HBOT could help You and na regain your lives. If you are interested in knowing more information, please contact me. I can point you in the right direction. Dr. Harch has been working with hyperbarics for over 30 years. He can be found online at Harch Hyperbarics or www.hbot.com . I originally found him by googling Dr. Harch. I was scared to take that initial leap of faith. Now, I am so glad I took that chance. I hope to hear from you soon. Wishing You and na the best.
