You said this all has happen to you in the last 24 months. Let me give you

some hope in the knee dept. I broke my knee cap in 4 pieces. It took a while to

heal ( I too opted out of surgery...but for stupid reasons, not well reasoned

ones, like I was too busy working to recuperate and I was willing to roll the

dice).

After about 6 months I began some rehab with a PT who released me when I

promised to keep it up in the weight room. The result is that after about 3

years

post incident and intensive self-rehab work ( and about a zillion leg

exercises) my injured leg was my DOMINANT leg (even though it was my left leg

and I am

right handed) and had more strength than the other one. That is true to this

day.

I decided to do this since I was 40 at the time and would not agree to a

future of arthritis and knee pain everytime it got cold and rainy.

Be patient, be persistent, hit the gym, get an appt with a GOOD personal

trainer or a PT for a consult and I bet you can get that leg in fine shape.

Good luck, (atlanta)
