Guest guest
Hi Arnold!! Yes, I completely agree with you on the acid blockers! I have come accross so much info on the side affects and cant believe our gastro doesnt realize these affects. I discovered the blockers also interfer with other meds and he never brought this to our attention. One of his main meds is stool mover(vacs just about destroyed his intestinal track) and I think when the acid blocker is given to close to the stool script it makes his movements backup worse due to the acid blocker interfered with the stool med, which in turn causes added reflux(when there is intestinal back up this causes stomach acid backup). It just seems like such a revolving door when it comes to his meds, one seems to affect the other, has side affects, that requires more meds, and so on and so on. I was happy to find a natural form(aloe vera juice) that seems to have really helped him when it comes to the gi issues he has. Then to be told by someone(I do appreciate cautions) that the aloe can have bad affects. Boy did this upset me. I did a ton of research on the aloe and cant seem to find the negative affect that was mentioned to me. They did post later more about the negative substance in aloe and then gave a link about it. I just knew In my heart that natural was going to be our sons only hope and then the aloe thing. I was a little discouraged on natural, but trying to shake off the negative and move on. We live in such a toxic(this includes over use of meds also) society and our children are the ones suffering the affects of. Thank you for the info on acid blockers. He well be seeing the gastro this month and I am hoping he can get off the prevacid. I am going to out write ask him many, many questions about the meds he has our son on. And ask for explanations on my leary feelings about them. He has tended to be a little proud/bothered with our concerns in the past. As though we should just automatically trust everything he does. I am going to give him one more try and go from there.
