Guest guest
Also, part of the reason TSH is a problem test is not as much due to the inaccuracy as the ridiculous reference ranges. They usually run about .5 to 6.0 and any endocrinologist worth his weight would tell you it should be 1.1-2.5. The recommendations on testing temperature by Arnold are spot on. Cheaper too. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of arnoldgore@... Dr.Alan Gaby,MD suggests if you suspect low thyroid function despite normal blood levels you can perform a home test by taking your underarm resting temperature, taken BEFORE you get up in the morning. Place a thermometer by the side of the bed and make sure to shake it down the night before. First thing in the morning, before you get up and move around, put it under your armpit for 10 minutes. record the temperature and take the average of 4 days. Women still menstruating, should take the temperature on the second through 4th day of the cycle. Dr.Broda ,MD who popularized this test believed a temperature below 97.8 suggested inadequate thyroid production. Dr.Gaby uses a more conservative 97.4. He observed that individuals with higher temperatures were less likely to improve and more likely to have side effects from thyroid hormone supplementation. Guest guest
Hi Arnold: I will try that tommorrow. I did this test a long time ago and it came out low but when I added thyroid to my daily routine I did not have an improvement hair loss. And when I stopped taking it, I had a flew like symptom for a week and then lumps came out around my neck. An acupuncturist told me that it was because of the thyroid I had been taking or stopped abruptly. after 3 months of treatment the lumps disapeared. I never knew exactly what happened. I don't remember now. It has been about 10 years. I will check it out again. I am interested in the adrenal function. Any home testing for that? Any input is very much appreciated! arnoldgore@... wrote: Hi , Thyroid blood tests-TSH are notoriously inaccurate. VCO is also a good natural antiviral. There is a group on this specific topic, with lots of info and testimonies.
