Guest guest
, The ketogenic diet is started in the hospital with medical supervision and testing. There is also a program, Atkins 4 Seizures. This is the website and there is also a group on . There has been a study going on and I don't know if it is still in progress but Dr. Kossoff from s Hopkins is in charge of it so you could contact him if you are interested. atkins4seizures is the group at . http://atkinsforseizures.com/theatkinsdiet.html is the website. If you don't have medical insurance this might be another option. Hallie (Grandma to Tanner, age 6, ketogenic diet) [ ] books/reading material on epilepsy Hi my name is . My husband has epilepsy and has been diagnosed for approximately 6 years. He was in an accident and hid m his head. They luckily cannot find permanent damage, but he know suffers for grand mal seizures. He has been taking tegretol and up until recently it has been helping. He usely only has a seizure every few months. He usually knows when the seizures are coming, but 2 weeks ago he had one while driving and hit a telephone pole and a house. He had no warning sign this time - it was a reality check. The past few days he has been having things that are like small seizures - these usually lead to the big one, but haven't. Anyway, I decided I needed to do some research on my own and see what we could do at home to help arrest this disease. It is hard because he doesn't have medical insurance so all the visits to the doc are expensive. Does anyone have a website or book that would be of help? Also, I keep seeing info on the ketogenic diet. I know it is for children, but I read they are starting one for adults. Does anyone have any info on this. thank you for your time
