Randi,

While I would recommend to anyone to try and keep their gallbladder if

a stone is stuck surgery is potentially (and probably) life saving. You can

live a fine existence without it. While I am appalled at the surgeons

reaction of ridicule I agree 100% with his recommendation. It would be very

dangerous with a stuck stone to try and flush, you just don't have the time.

Modern surgical techniques are a godsend and a blessing in such a situation.

Birth control pills do increase the coagulation of cholesterol (which just

takes away a great excuse for us guys).

We all " cause " our own health problems, the beautiful aspect is we get

thousands of " second " chances. Be kind to yourself; you were perfect with

your gallbladder and you are just as perfect now. A little (and I mean very

little) compromised perhaps in some biochemical processes in the body, but

just perfect anyhow.

Be kind to your liver and lend it a helping hand. Your IBS symptoms

and your depression are most likely directly linked to both the removal of

your gallbladder (not the problem just a symptom) and the original digestive

imbalance that potentiated the formation of stones in the first place. You

women are designed to perform liver function for two human beings not just

one, making it a tough and valiant role. -Dave

Hi Randy,

I'm so sorry to hear about your ballbladder problems. You don't

want to mess around when things get as bad as they did in your case.

You did what you felt you had to do, and it could have been much

worse. The lessons I learn from situations such as yours is not to

try and figure out what was at fault, or what should have been

done. I try to remind myself to address my liver and gall bladder

before things get so bad. The worse the problems are, the more

intense the dietarty changes, flushing, and supplements needed.

In reference to what you said:

> I'm writing because I feel the need to reach out. I keep blaming

> myself because I was 25lbs. overweight, I was sedentary and I

> previously took birth control pills. (The docs think the bc pills

A lot of people who are 25 lbs overweight, sedentary, and taking

birth control pills are not having any gall bladder problems. I

wouldn't recommend any of them, but they didn't " cause " gall bladder

problems necessarally. Everything we do either aids, hinders, or is

neutral to our health. I'm a man, not overwieght, and not

sedentary. I've flushed 9 times and gotten out a total of about

2000 gall stones. The past is the past. Let's talk about the

present and the future :)

Here's a must read site for treating depression. Please go to:

" Rapid Recovery From Depression Using Magnesium Treatment "

http://www.coldcure.com/html/dep.html#reactive

It turns out that liver/gallbladder problems and depression often

have a magnesium deficiency component that is easy to treat. Check

into it and I believe you'll be back enjoying life again without

your gall bladder :)
