Guest guest
AMEN to THAT!! " When Life Gives Ya Lemons...Make lemonade " and if a friend has Vodka... Have a Party! From: Helen K. Reitan <hkr.cp2@...> Subject: [ ] Re: vaccinations squabbles Date: Saturday, August 30, 2008, 11:51 PM I know that Pepper can be irritating and upsets people, so I went to my book, 201 Little Buddhist Reminders, for some advice. Below are some of the verses I found: Dealing with Conflict or Difference of Opinion: Observing my opinions, I see them form and melt like snowflakes. I let go of my opinions, and of my concern for others' opinions. I choose not to argue with others, but rather think about ideas with them. Dealing with Arguments: Arguing is useless. To uproot the anger that starts an argument, I name it and give it space. I shine the light of awareness on it and it loses its power over me. I vow to be mindful of my speech. Anger: Anger ruins joy, steals the goodness of my mind, and forces my mouth to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, leads to a mind without regrets. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by all. Compassion: Seeing the web of suffering we become entangled in, I become kind and compassionate to others. This compassion includes myself. I start in this present moment to practice loving kindness and compassion. I choose not to argue with Pepper, and I will try to have compassion for her for she too is dealing with difficult issues. Peace. Helen
