Hi everyone,

My dad lives in India and has some gall stones in the gall bladder

and the doc has said that its too big to be crushsed and suggested

laproscopy. NOw i have 2 questions

1. Are there any way to cleanse gall stones from gall bladder

2. The doc in India mentioned that laproscopy would be a high risk

operation as my father has asthama. Is this true. Can someone please

help me.

Thanks

Chandrika.

Chandrika.

I'll say it for the group.... Get a comfortable chair, and begin reading your

way

through our previous messages, then read the LINKS, then the DATABASES

and the FILES. You will find a gold mine of information about cleansing

stones and doing what you need to do to avoid the surgery completely. Help

for your dad is only a short read away.

Regarding the ASTHMA, this is not a real problem for anesthesia or surgery

per se. It is partially dependent upon what they are calling asthma, what

triggers it, how often he has it and how serious the attacks have been.

Anesthetic risk is also, and perhaps more directly related to, his overall

general health. The patient can always get treated on the spot should an

attack happen during or after surgery. Epinephrine, et. al., can be used in an

emergency to block an attack and the preanesthetics and sedatives virtually

take the entire emotional component out of asthma. Maybe the doc is not

wanting to do the surgery for some other reason?

My cousin was too obese to have anesthesia so they took out his GB using

only a spinal block. This was only a few months ago and he did have the 8 "

incision, not laparoscopic. Other, more cosmopolitan, hospitals use

acupuncture anesthesia, some even use hypnosis.

Incidentally, in the US at least, crushing stones never did work too well and

has fallen completely out of vogue. It was only tried for a small period of

time.

Too many people went into GB attack or pancreatitis post-crushing.

Happy reading,

Will in Minnesota
