The explanation to my previous brief answer is in the first paragraph of the

article posted.

" Gallstones form when liquid stored in the gallbladder hardens into pieces of

stone-like material. The liquid, called bile, helps the body digest fats. Bile

is stored in the gallbladder until the body needs to digest fat. At that time,

the gallbladder contracts and pushes the bile into a tube called a duct that

carries it to the small intestine, where it helps with digestion. "

Bile helps the body digest fats. When the liver and gallbladder aren't

functioning correctly - because of disease, congestion, inflammation, thickened

bile etc - the bile either isn't produced in sufficient quantities or the

gallbladder is unable to release enough to help the body digest the fats.

Something that then happens is that fats are absorbed through the ileum and

stored in the liver which then gets congested/more congested. Vicious cycle. The

weight starts going on.

Many who suffer from liver/gallbladder problems report some years of weight gain

prior to diagnosis. And many who have treated their livers report the weight

dropping off easily with their lifestyle changes.

There are many options for thining the bile. One is taking regular

excercise. There are also dietary solutions, beet is one and also Lecithin. I

can't remember the others offhand, maybe someone else can help here... it's time

for me to attend to again.

Blessings

Mama.
