Guest guest
Dear Reader, Is the Federal Trade Commission breaking the law? The Alliance for Natural Health says so. The FTC recently trotted out a new set of requirements for health-related claims for foods and dietary supplements -- and the ANH is saying these requirements directly violate federal law. Why? Because they're going against the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA), which permits structure/function claims for foods and supplements without two random-controlled human trials -- trials the FTC is now requiring for ANY health-related claim. This new policy is being enforced without the FTC having gone through the rulemaking process that is required by law. The ANH has put together a Petition for Rulemaking challenging the FTC, and they're asking for your support. I've just grazed the surface of the issue here. You'll find more comprehensive coverage -- and a way to join in the fight -- _here_ (http://clicks.wrightnewsletter.com//t/AQ/AAU4fg/AAVDug/AAPeTQ/AQ/AVheCg/GZpb) . my addition Unfortunately the Federal Trade Commission(FTC) does not have to listen to you. As a matter of fact if they do, they are likely to be fired. Therefore you should make a copy of the form letter Alliance for Natural Health has and send it to you Congrssmember and 2 senators, asking them to contact the FTC and urge them to withdraw the regulations and follow the Dietary Supplement Health Education Act and the Pearson v.Shalala Decision upholding it. arnold Yours in good health,
