Ymmmm. For those not " in the know " -- the In-n-Out burger chain has an official " secret menu " that is NOT posted but the employees all know it, and it has some really yummy stuff on it. -- Heidi
Guest guest
Heidi, Considering you know so much about in and out burger, do you know what type of oil they use to fry their french fries??? They say it is " 100% pure, cholesterol-free vegetable oil " , which isn't great for this group. It didn't make me get out of breath though, so it likely isn't Canola or it is a good grade of Canola. Here is what they say, and a link to the secret menu: http://www.zenlemur.com/innout.shtml " Animal Style " - bun is grilled with mustard, sauteed onions instead of raw, pickles, extra " special sauce " " Wish Burger " - no meat, i.e. veggie burger " Protein Style " - lettuce wrapped around the burger instead of a bun for all of you who are in " The Zone " " Old Fashioned Style " - ketchup and mustard instead of the weird special sauce " Flying Dutchman " - two meat patties with two slices of cheese. that's it. " Double Meat " - Double Double without cheese " 4x4 " - 4 meat patties with 4 slices of cheese. Are you SURE you can eat that? " 2x4 " - 2 meat patties with 4 slices of cheese for the fromage afficionado " Grilled Cheese " - cheeseburger, sans meat " Fries - well done " - get your fries extra crispy and brown the way you like them! " Choco-Vanilla Swirl Shake " - just what it sounds like " Neopolitan Shake " - a blend of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes. http://www.in-n-out.com/html/frm_b4.html At In-N-Out Burger, freshness is everything. That's why in a world where food is often chemically processed, prepackaged and frozen, at In-N-Out we make everything the old fashioned way. Our hamburgers are made from fresh, 100% pure beef, selected and ground by our own butchers. Our lettuce is hand-leafed. Our American cheese is the real thing. And we use the plumpest, juiciest tomatoes we can find. All of our ingredients are delivered fresh to our stores, daily. In fact, we don't even own a microwave, heat lamp, or freezer. We even bake our buns using old-fashioned, slow-rising sponge dough. And we make every burger one at a time, cooked fresh to order. Of course, what's a great burger without great fries? At In-N-Out, we know a french fry is only as good as the potato it comes from. That's why we use the highest grade potatoes and ship them fresh from the farm. Then we cut them right in the store, one potato at a time. And cook them in 100% pure, cholesterol-free vegetable oil. To top it all off, we also make our delicious shakes from real ice cream -- just like we used to make at the first In-N-Out back in 1948. We wouldn't do it any other way. Because when it comes to burgers, fries and shakes, getting fresh is a good thing.

I didn't get the cheese ... isn't American cheese something like " cheese food " ? Now tell me, WHAT is " cheese food " ? Something you give to your cheddar when it starts rumbling???? -- Heidi
Guest guest
Heidi- LOL! I remembered it being " processed cheese product " , but I went and looked at my girlfriend's package of American cheese, and it does indeed say " processed cheese food " . Maybe I'm misremembering, or maybe the industry lobbied Congress to let them call it food. >isn't American >cheese something like " cheese food " ? Now tell >me, WHAT is " cheese food " ? Guest guest
Hi and Group, As I was reading the email about the benefits of brown rice, I remember a chiropractor telling me some years ago that she went on a diet of brown rice for 3 days to heal stomach ulcers and that it helps digestive problems. I didn't know that I needed to soak it for 22 hours though, to release the nutrients. thanks for passing along the info ! Dee
