Guest guest
Good news Nile! Ha ha. I thought for a while I was going to have my 88 year old mother drive down to Palmer and straighten you out. She's a lifetime Lutheran though, so as much as she respects preachers, she would probably have to warn you off of those church-lady's basement suppers! It's a wonder there are any Lutherans left! There are practically none of my Kansas relatives that are not already in the graveyard, and most found death way too early. Not only are they dying from the toxic farming practices of the midwest, they eat food far different from that of our childhood. Where there was once a huge and flourishing vegetable garden at the homes of all my aunts and uncles and my grandparents, there now sits a riding mower and what amounts basically to Chem-Lawn. Where we once collected eggs from the farmyard chickens, and where we butchered chickens, turkeys and pigs, there are now the parked SUVs and RVs. There is no tool or machine that doesn't have a gas or electric motor attached to it. My monsterously fat cousins (all my farmer uncles are dead) waddle to their ATV rather than walk to the barn! No one walks and most now have " handicapped " hangers on the mirrors of their cars so they don't have to walk any further than necessary. God forbid. All food these farmers eat comes from the Discount Supermarket (Mall Wart) and most of is it micro-wavable pre-made meals and bags of snacks to eat while watching cable TV. The local cafe is long closed, having been replaced by the Mini-Mart gas station selling nothing but junk food. All this in a state that proudly proclaims it's all about " family values " (as in, I guess, the way Jim had a family, just a little slower technique). I wasn't kidding when I said the county seat hospital is where people go to die, even in the " big city " Wichita, the hospital is a place who's death rates belie the pretty, pastel colored walls and fancy-schmancy machinery. People down there believe just about everything their doctor tells them. If only that doctor could say something good other than surgery or drugs. The doctors there drive better cars than the teachers and Lutheran preachers. Just in my relatives alone I can think of about 20 people who had either surgical " complications " or some evil " hospital staph infection " or something similar. Many didn't live to tell about it. I go to my old friends and family's homes now and see on each kitchen table the ubiquitious large lazy susan tray filled with prescription drugs! When you ask them what the drugs are for, they don't know. Many of the bottles are for the KIDS! It's a mess! And these are the people who, every chance they get, beseech ME to " come to my senses " and have my GB jerked out! " Get that surgery before it's too late " they say. I guess, something about me being this old and having one of the few intact sets of tonsils, appendix and GB makes them nervous. Ironically, I feel great, I'm not on any drugs and I'm lucky enough to eat better than 99.9% of the people in the world, so, go figure. No, Nile, what you get here on this site is fresh. At first, it may seem bold and radical (I guess some of it still is) but the further you look into it, the more you will see that all this is just plain common sense and practical logic. We are in the process of re-member-ing the truth. What you get in the surgery suite or the pharmacy is what is really radical, the " procedure-de-jour " . It's what people all over our country are dying for. Perhaps we are all missionaries, Will in Minnesota
