Guest guest
Hello!! I am at my wits end. I had my gall bladder removed over a month ago now via laproscopic surgery. I have on and off abdominal and back pain. The pain moves around from just below my right breast to my mid abdomen; in my mid back to my upper back. It can shoot down my right arm and sometimes I get headaches. It happens every day. I never had back or abdomen pain before my gall bladder surgery. About a month and a half ago I went to the emergency room because for 3 days I was having pain between my breasts that went into my right back. They did an ultrasound and said I had an inflamed gall bladder and several stones. They suggested I have my gall bladder removed. I did what they told me and 2 weeks later I had my surgery with no complications. I started getting these symptoms right after my surgery. I went to my family doctor who did several blood tests which came out normal. He also did an x-ray of my upper half which came out normal. The symptoms do not have anything to do with what I eat. I am currently on a low-fat diet and still having symptoms. My family doctor put me on welchol which helped with my bowel movements. My question is if anyone has had these same symptoms? Am I expecting myself to heal too quickly? From the little that I've read on laser gall bladder removal people heal very quickly. I had a c-section a year and a half ago and healed very quickly. My doctor is sending me to a physical therapist on Monday. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks in advance, Holli
Guest guest
Dear Holli: You have certainly been through the wringer. I am so sorry you have had to endure all this upsetness. If you will search through the archives you will find many ideas for you to try to relieve your symptoms. Everyone is different, but there are LOTS of ideas for you to try to find the perfect plan for yourself. I think there is a post-gallbladder surgery group also. Get a good chair and a glass of water and a few spare hours and read away. I know it will work out. It will take you some time and you will need some patience. Best wishes, (Atlanta)
