Guest guest
Hi everyone. My name is Deana and my little girl has Polyarticular JRA. She got diagnosed when she was 2yrs and is now 8yrs. She was first on Naproxen but her arthritis spread from 2 joints to 28 in a matter of 1 month. She was then put on methotrexate (hate this drug) and has been on it since. She was taken off her meds twice. Both times it lasted only 6 months. The most recent flare up as been just last week. Both her knees seem to be the trouble spots. They just keep flaring up. So, instead of putting her right back onto the methotrexate her doctor is going to do steriod injections next Wednesday. I really hope this works for her. Its so hard to watch my little girl get so disapointed that she cant stay off her meds. Does anyone have any information on the steriod injection? I dont know all that much about it. I know she has to be in splints and cant walk/move for 48 hours after. Should be fun to keep an 8yr old still for 2 days NOT!!. Are they in alot of pain after? How long are they in pain for? Does this injection have good results? Thanks Deana
