Guest guest
have a quick question: has anyone tried Vita-Mix, if so, what has been your experience like? thanks.
Guest guest
I just got a used Champion juicer on eBay for $59.95. I think that's a real deal considering new ones run about $200. It comes with the operating manuals and the lady says it works great. My question is...can I juice wheatgrass in a Champion? Gloria
Guest guest
No. The wheatgrass will just wrap around the mechanism. Some folks have some success if they wrap the wheatgrass up in a green leaf of some sort and then feed it through. I never had any success and gave up. Bought a Green Life and now I don't drink wheatgrass or juice hardly at all. Green smoothies are my new jones. Shari

I knew you couldn't juice wheatgrass in a centrifugal juicer but thought you could in a Champion. But that's ok. I haven't been juicing much wheatgrass either, and I have a manual wg juicer if I need it. Gloria
Guest guest
Oh Lottie I would love to tell you what I do. We (my husband and I) have been doing it since January after we saw the Jack Lalain commercial we were hooked. Welllll just look at him? he has been doing it for years. I juice and I blend because there are some things that will not juice like Bananas or blue berries and strawberries. I start of by putting protein powder in my blender along with wheat germ and flax seed and a banana and berries if I have them. I also add a handfull of spinich leaves that I buy in the bag and an avacado too. They do not juice well either. then i set that aside before blending... I put so many different things in the juicer. we love beets, peeled and raw, celery, apples (whole), oranges--peeled or yes it is bitter if you leave the peel of the oranges on. we tried that too. yuck! i do yams, sweet potatoes (all peeled) cantalope, pineapple-all peeled too!, and carrots. (I try to use at least one carrot every day). almost any veggie from the market will do. Tomatoes dont juice well either so I blend them when I have them. I know it sounds like a lot of trouble and a lot of stuff but you dont use everything everyday. Nuts are also good added to the blender (I like sunflower seeds) you can use any kind of mellon- they juice well example of one mix I do: juice: apple, pineapple, sweet potatoe or yam, add to blender along with a banana (we have a banana every day too) (but you can leave them out) protein mix, weat germ and flax seed. strawberries. and I also always add about 5 ice cubes because the protein powder makes it thick. Now I have probably made you say " wow that is a lot of work " but it is not. and my sweet husband Denny cleans the blender and juicer up for me every morning. that is the deal " I make the juice and he cleans up " oh another tip. If you make too much you can put it in baggies and freeze it for another day. We usually drink about 6-8 oz every day. and we have not been sick once all year!!! We truly believe in it. Try it you'll like it. Now when we were in Hawaii these past two weeks we did not have access to a juicer so we just blended everything. Oh the papaya's and mangos were so good. so I would do spinach, bananas, strawberries cucumbers, and any other stuff we could find in the market that would blend. It was good. Love you Lottie and wish I could meet you one day. p.s. this may gross you out but we also juice brustle sprouts!!! I have one gathering dust in a bin somewhere on the premises. I can't have bananas and oranges due to potassium levels being too high. Do you add anything to the mix and do you peel the fruit and vegetables. I tried it without peeling and found it much too bitter for my taste buds. I need a change in my diet to make it more palative. See what I mean, we are all here to help one another.
