Guest guest
Hi, everyone! I'd like to introduce myself; My name is Beth Sekelik and my daughter, , age 5 years, was recently diagnosed with arthritis. We found a phenomenal pediatric rheumatologist, and are so grateful to have found him. is currently taking Naprosyn, Prednisolone, and just began Methotrexate. She has always been a terrific sleeper at night(thank you God!), but since beginning the first two meds, her sleep has gone haywire. She is up during the night just about every night at least once, but sometimes, such as last night, 5 times. She is pleasant, not crying, not fussing, just awake. Gradually, she gets herself back to sleep only to awaken again. She makes it through school, only to be exhausted when she gets home and then dozes off and on for a few minutes here and there during a 1-2 hour period before it's bath time, dinner time, and then bed. Have any of you experienced this, and what in the world did you do if anything, to help it? Do the sleep disruptions become a permanent part of her life, or is it a matter of getting adjusted to the med? What is the average time it takes to adjust to the steroid? She has now been on it for 3 weeks. She is currently on 1/2 tsp of the Pred. per day, and we give it to her in the a.m. after breakfast. Any guidance or info would be greatly appreciated!
