Hi ,

I have just done experiments on myself and husband. I find I can drink water

up to about 15minutes before a meal and I start drinking water about an hour

to an hour and a half for bigger or hard to digest meals. This has made a huge

difference in my digestion. The main problem with drinking with or too soon

after meals is it dilutes your acids and can give you indigestion.

Hello ,

" Take hot water after every meal to control the fatness and improve

digestion.

Preferably drink water after 20 minutes after food and not along with

the food.

Preferably do not have any other food or drink while having milk. "

The above was found on

Ater 20 mins seemed very soon, as I think the food is still sitting in

the stomach undigested?

" Take your meals preferably two times a day- Avoid meals after sunset. "

This seem to conflict with the recommendation to eat regularly to

avoid gallstones?

refrain from drinking 1/2 hr before & 1 hr after meals is the old long standing

rule of thumb you will see from many of the old health texts etc....most add if

you must drink near meals before is preferable to directly after...fwiw

Subject: drinking water - timing

Hi,

One is told to drink lots of water. Only problem, one shouldn't too

soon before/after meals for proper digestion. Regarding the period

before/after meals, intuitively I believe that the required period

before meals would be shorter than the required period after meals, as

I believe water then would be quickly absorbed into the body leaving

the stomach free for digesting food. I have not done any research into

this tho'

How long does it take water to be absorbed into the body?

How long should one refrain from drinking water after a meal?

Thanks
