Guest guest
On or about Wednesday, November 12, 2003 7:15 AM [GMT+1=CET], Maarit <mervi111@...> sprinkled letters onto the page, saying: > LIPSTICK WARNING!! > Here is the test you can do yourself: > > 1. Put some lipstick on yourhand, > 2. Use a 24k-14k Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick. > 3.If the lipstick colour changes to black then you know the lipstick > contains lead. This should happen to any lipstick or even just skin on people whose gold ring contains copper or other impurities, or hasn't been cleaned properly for some time!! Lipstick is great for cleaning jewellery!! OK... I've just been upstairs and tested ALL my wifes lipsticks with various bits of 24 carat gold and every one of them went black... apart from the black one that I used to wear!! It's a hoax.... Guest guest
Dear : I imagine you are quite scared and I certainly would be and have been. I know you researched diligently about your options before you took even the first step. From the sounds of your medical history (cystitis as well as gut issues) you have been dealing with feeling punky for quite sometime. I am sorry you are in that shape, especially in a foreign country, its always harder than at home in familiar surroundings. Making the surgery/no surgery decision is a difficult and lonely decision. Pain and fear make it easier to trust others than trust your own wisdom. It sounds like now, you are out of pain so you are thinking clearly and you will know what is right for you. Dale makes some good points. Having your GB out is only the first step. You have strained your liver and you might want to think about the steps you need to take to rebuild it -- diet(adding good oils, avacado, etc), exercise, herbals (Milk Thistle is excellent), etc. Also rebuilding your immune system after surgery. Between now and the time you go into the hospital try some lecithen, some EFA (Omega 3's, 6's, GLA - evening primose oil is a decent source) and maybe throw in some taurine to get your organs and body in the BEST possible shape before you are operated on. I found a gentle vegetable based brothy diet (soups and broths) worked best for me after a serious incident. Everyone is different. I also have omitted wheat while I have been healing my liver. People with serious liver issues (Aids patients and the like) often become wheat intolerant and it takes a big load off the liver quickly to omit those items. Turkey have wonderful rice dishes and a vegetable tradition so you will be able to sustain yourself nicely with local vegetables and rice as your grain. Its worth a try to rebalance yourself as quickly as possible. Best wishes, (Atlanta)
Guest guest
Yes it would be nuice not to have surgery but sometimes its a last reasort. I had the same problem. After awhile it just became worth it to have it removed. ----- Original Message ----- From: " Dr Smawfield " <smawfield@...> <gallstones > Sent: Tuesday, December 07, 2004 5:23 AM Subject: warning!!! > > Don't be put off by the length of this, but felt better sharing it with a > group of people who are interested/obssessed with their GB's! Guest guest
; This is truly a sad report. I'm so sorry to hear of your need to have surgery but appreciate your effort in seeking to keep your gallbladder. I only have one question regarding some of the things you had been doing such as your using apple juice. Where you also taking a lot of Essential Fatty Acids while working on your liver and gallbladder's condition? Lecitin as well as taurine will go a long way towards feeding the liver and helping it to produce a much better emulsive bile of which helps in the softening and removal process too. My story is one of a person who's doctor told him that he needed to have the gallbladder removed ASAP within the next two weeks after diagnostics of my having......... " A " stone of undetermined size in a thickened and diseased gallbladder. It took me months of dieting to get to where I showed a zero content in my gallbladder and a healed gallbladder too. This wasn't accomplished in an intelleginet manner either because in my avoidance of all fats, including the good essential fattty acids, caused some liver damage and because of that I had the worst attack of my life when in fact I didn't have any stones show in the ultrasound, plus, my liver and gallbladder both now looked normal except for the blood test showing really bad AST, ALK, and ALT levels. But, I'm pretty sure that has changed in the last five years, because, I have not had an attack in that time period and I give a lot of creadance to Dr. Cabot and her book " The Liver Cleansing Diet " as a major contribution to my liver and gallbladder's welfare being as it is today. Living with a potentually disfunctional body isn't a pleasant thing wtih which ot deal. I'm so sorry that you will be needing the operation but in some people's cases it is a necessity. The fact of the matter is simply we are all at one stage or anohter in this thing we know as life and all of us have to deal with the cards we have been delt.
