Guest guest
This is what I give my clients ========= Your body is composed of approx. two thirds water. The brain is over 80 % water. Many physiological processes are dependent on water - enzymes, blood, kidneys. Digestion secretes eight litres of fluid into the digestive tract in a day, which is then reabsorbed by the colon. Very few people replace the correct quantity of water intake and subsequently suffer from mild dehydration. Even more so for people who engage in heavy exercise and sweating. It is suggested that a normal sized adult should take around 3 pints of water every day - not including beverages. Half a pint (or a full 8 oz glass) should be taken half an hour before meals, and the same amount taken two and a half hours later. Given three meals a day, this should lead to approx three pints. Some people find warm water is easier to drink than cold Filtered or spring water is preferred In addition - always drink when thirsty. Your body needs SALT (unless due to an obvious medical condition). Small amounts (half tsp) of a product called LO-SALT or preferably unbleached, unrefined SEA SALT should be taken with a meal or water most days to help your body use the water correctly. This is NOT in addition to ordinary table salt. If you find you are bothered by having to get up at night for the toilet, experiment by having your last glass around 4-6pm. Ladies - by helping your elimination system flush away toxins, it could keep your complexion looking younger for longer - ask some top models. Ref : " Your Body's Many Cries for Water " by Dr F. Batmangheldidj ========== I will add that sipping warm water during meal is benefical if it is a dry or stodgy food And that a protein meal will stay longer in the stomach, thus increasing the time after a meal when water should be taken - sips of water shouldn't hurt tho....
