Guest guest
Thanks for the post. I know at first I was leery until I realized what happens if you don't treat. My grandpa had jra from early youth. There were no reliable treatments then and the effects were horrible. Now that my daughter is older she is in agreement that she may not know what will happen later due to the meds but she knows what will happen without and chooses to take them. My 9 year old has neurological issues and the info on his drugs is horrible but him without is not an option. We could handle his beating us up, destroying the house etc but when he turned on himself we knew we needed to follow the neuros recs. Now if you tried to remove them we all (he included ) would fight to keep them. I think it all comes to acceptance for us. We now know this disease is here to stay but we also know how to control it (at least as much as possible) and seeing her walking and occasionally playing her beloved instrument or being able to attend part of a dance class once in awhile is not something we would forsake on the chance of side effects. And we pray daily for a cure! e, mom to joe 19 poly + snooksmama@... wrote: This is from a rheumatoid arthritis list I am on. Thought you might like to read what a woman thought about the drugs... " My RA came on fast and hard, though there were some simmering symptoms for several months before that, if I'd known what was going on. I don't have any RA induced joint changes at this point, I want to do everything I can to keep it that way. Every time I get nervous about all the possible side effects of the various drugs I'm on, I go back and read about all the things that can happen if RA goes untreated. At that point, it's a no-brainer which is the greater risk, even if it weren't for the debilitating level of pain, stiffness and fatigue without the drugs.
