I'm sorry to hear that you have bile issues. I hope your PCP finds a

treatment that will give you relief. Keep us posted on how you are

doing. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I will keep you in my

and have been to several doctor's appointments and testings. Today

took me (and watched Carly and Cyd) while I got my

endoscopy. There is bile. I go back to the gastro man next week. I

could not have done this without my email buddies to pull me thru,

not to mention my girls being such troopers thru the whole ordeal.

Sonya posted for me on the preop list, but it never showed up.

Perhaps since it was about bile, it got removed. I do not know for

sure. So, I got the beach okay, Have a little over two weeks left

and am trying not to be nuts about the bile issue. That is all I

know for now. But wanted to be completely honest with you as I

Larice,

Try not to worry too much - apparently bile is common and the fact that it

is there doesn't have to be a big deal. Let the doctor's handle it and

worry only if you have to! Hope you feel better!

Hi Ann,

I thought I read in several posts that taurine does this? Maybe

you could check the archives under " taurine " and see what they say,

thanks , i understand it a bit better! but not all yet!

on adrew page it sounds if my english is good enough as u can notice bile

thats a good explantion.

organic toxins and heavy metals are excreted through bile so you can

see the modern emphasis on low fat diets has some issues

i am eating about 200 ml of double cream a day now but you need

adequate trace minerals to metabolise the fat.

low fat leads to heavy metals accumulation and then you get gall

bladder problems, the gall baldder is removed and then since the bile

flow is lower and fats are never digested properly the person just

gets sicker and sicker.

Insufficient Bile can lead to constipation.....a clogged up liver cannot secrete

sufficient bile.

bile also helps to deodorize the bowel,,,......

Hi

We have found bile reflux comes from H. Pylori induced ulcers and can usually be

successfully treated with the following 1 week course of medications:

LEVAQUIN® (levofloxacin) (500 mg once a day),

Amoxicillin (Amoxil) (1 g twice a day) and

Aciphex (rabeprazole) (20 mg once a day)

for 7 days;

I recommend you see your Dr ASAP and ask if he /she would consider this

prescription for you.

I just woke up coughing because I had bile reflux. I apparently had some bile go

down my windpipe, because I had a very strong burning sensation in my lungs for

about 10 minutes. They felt like they were on fire. The pain has gotten a little

better, but I'm still coughing up phlegm here and there. I was going to call

you, but trying to talk is hard. It feels like my throat is burned on the

inside.

I had this happen once a couple of years ago. The problem seemed to show up when

I was sleeping, so I sleep in a " head elevated " position now. I have no other

symptoms that I'm aware of that would lead me to believe I have an ulcer, but

now I'm concerned. I take all my meds and most of the supplements (except

glutamine and creatine...can't seem to fit them in), and I eat yogurt regularly.

I don't drink coffee, tea or soda, and I don't smoke or drink. I had some

chocolate and cookies yesterday and today after not eating any for a while. I

also had some really spicy chicken about 20 minutes before I went to bed. Bad

idea...I know, but I was wondering if it was more than that.

Any insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

By the way...I watched the Gil Gerard program. Congratulations on the success of

the show and the incredible increase in interest. I love my MGB - it's good to

see it getting recognition.

Hi Dr.R.

I have been taking Nexium for several months because of acid reflux at night

after I go to sleep. Is this the same thing as bile reflux? I have had acid

problems since day one including an emergency surgery for perforated ulcer about

6 months after MGB. Since that time I've been on Protonix or Nexium.
