You must make the surgery decision yourself, but I will tell you many people on this forum have saved their GBs, in much worse shape than yours, by modifying their lifestyles, adding exercise and a LOT of water, adding some supplements and/or herbs, and making sure they are eating the right kind of fats. Some also flush. Some do not. Would you consider waiting a month or two and trying a few things that you read about? If nothing is improving after a few months, you can always have surgery..... Do not be scared. You will be fine whichever decision you make. (Atlanta)
Guest guest
Thanks for some of your feedback, very helpful! I have one other strage questions. Since my gall bladder problems, I have also experienced a " thick " tongue. The back half of my tongue seems much thicker than normal. It is not my imagination, I have even had some tongue ulcerations due to the friction caused by the large tongue. Could this be gall bladder related? jimmy
Guest guest
I am not on the Atkins, I was on the Atkin's Diet almost 2 years ago which I think was the beginning of my problems! I would NEVER do the Atkins again.

I would NEVER do the Atkins again. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I would have to say it very well could have been too. I was not in agreement with this diet from its get go. I was however in agreement with the South Beach diet of which is also a high fat intake diet. The difference is in the type of fats eaten. With Atkins you can eat bacon and other fatty meats but with the South Beach diet you are into a different type of fat of which is supplying essential fatty acids such as you would get with avacados or other saturated vegatable fats. The thing I don't agree with has to do with the high protien content of these types of meal, unless you are on a rigourous exercise program that includes a high water intake. But shoot, if you're into a regorus program to already then simply enjoying as much food as you want of the complex carbohydrate varieties will by itself be enough. We need meat because of the complexity and compactness of the proteins it contains. You could look at meat as a major supply source of the right types of proteins without having to determine them from the surroundings or various grouping of vegatables. There are also the meat of the bugs too but for many of us that would be a bit much to consider because of where it is we have been educated and have mental dispositions. The need for complexity in protiens is demonstrated in the fact that just living on only one food sustenance such as maze or corn meal can lead to a defeciency in amino acid intake. This can lead to diseases such as pellagra. http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/ency/pellagra.jsp There are various reasons as to why people will lose inches on the Atkins diet plan but for the most part the people I have seen on it have a very gray sagging look to them unlike the people doing a diet plan like you would get from Dr Cabot in The Liver Cleansing Diet along with exercise. They tend to look much more ........rosy cheeked. Dale
