FDA Approves Several ANDAs for Generic Meloxicam

The FDA has approved Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Mylan

Laboratories, and Par Pharmaceuticals' respective ANDAs to manufacture

and market meloxicam 7.5 and 15 mg tablets. Meloxicam is indicated for

relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis,

and for juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in patients 2 years of age and older.

It is the generic equivalent of Mobic by Boehringer Ingelheim.
