Guest guest
Lori Here's one old post for people NOT IN CRISIS (note: this is NOT applicable for people bent double in pain, gasping for breath, and on the cusp of trouble--although there's PLENTY to do there too, just different). Incidentally, I think BREATH CONTROL is probably the biggest thing I learned to do when in the crisis mode.... You can TOTALLY STOP an attack this way. I called this KEEPING THE BOOGIEMAN AWAY IN 2005.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My GB health goals have been two-fold, 1) GENERATING FEWER stones, and 2) FLUSHING (or, better yet, DISSOLVING) EXISTING stones. It's NEVER " over " so the plan must go on forever. I've got a plan that creates much happiness for me. Something (or maybe everything) I'm doing now is working and I haven't felt this good in decades. Serial ultrasounds (the last was 10-04) show a definite decrease in numbers and sizes of stones. I've gone from a GB chock full of stones in 2003 to (perhaps) none at this time. Last ultrasound showed only 2-3 small (1.4 cm was the biggest) stones and I've done a lot since then, so I think they are all gone. My TEN COMMANDMENTS for going into 2005: 1) Manage THOUGHTS especially ANGER. This involves mainly letting go of things and not agitating myself further. Also WORRY, ANXIETY and NEGATIVITY have to go bye-bye! I think it's the most important preventative of all. I also use yoga, meditation, Abraham, and more. 2) Getting rid of excess WEIGHT. Yes, I'm normally a mesomorph but I'd packed on a gut before getting sick. I've lost 30# of lard since then. I know now that I need to remain normal weight the rest of my life if I want to be healthy. Period. 3) EXERCISE. I'd allowed my body to get weak, flabby and sludgy. No wonder I got stones! Now I work out 60-90 minutes with weights, bicycle machine and swimming 3-5 days a week. It actually GIVES me " extra time " each day (more energy + clearer thoughts). 4) EATING ENOUGH CHOLESTEROL/HEALTHY FATS (eggs, butter, grass-fed meat). (you might have to EASE into this one, btw). I've followed Dr. Tom Cowan's advice that gallstones arrive from a diet that is too low in cholesterol and healthy fat intake. (www.westonapricefoundation.com). I think my 23 years as a vegetarian contributed to my stone build-up. He sez stones are the body's attempt to conserve cholesterol. Crazy? Perhaps, but it works for me. Plus, it's food filled with joy, not deprivation! 5) VITAMIN C. I take it every day now. I'm convinced I had a chronic bacterial infection in my GB (my GB lining was 8-9 mm thick back in October). Garlic, spices, liver herbs help this too. 6) ENZYMES- I'm taking about 12 caps and tabs a day, every day. Best if taken before meals. 7) WATER INTAKE- I think I'd gotten myself dehydrated chronically so I drink more now. 8) TRACE MINERALS I've heard of too many parasitic diseases and bacterial infections being predicated and basically caused by mineral deficiencies. I take about 4-6 a day. 9) NO LATE NIGHT MEALS. I try to eat breakfast around 8 am, lunch mid-day and dinner no later than 7 pm. I also know that eating a monster meal in the evening can be an extra burden so I say NO to excess (no matter how tempting). I also try to get a walk after dinner and before bed. 10) AVOID CONSTIPATION. This may be the most important physical thing I'm doing, but I've noted a period of constipatiion has preceded all my attacks. Now I use diet, fiber, or whatever (natural method) it takes to keep things moving. Best wishes to all hear for a good year of zero attacks and happy eating! Guest guest
HI Lori Will thinks him being vegetarian contributed to his gallstones and so do I. I was vegan for a year and a half prior to my first gallstone attack and vegetarian off and on starting age 9 I'm now 29 For me it was the introduction of healthy animal fats that helped with the gallstone attacks. the gallbladder needs to empty out it's contents on a regular basis and a diet void of any saturated fats like the vegan diet contributes to gallstones because the gallbladder doesn't work. It was slow. Some people would say avoid saturated fats but that has not been my experience. I will elaborate further if you have any questions. --- Lori <skydanse@...> wrote: > Hi, Will and others, I'm new here and I just got > finished attempting to search the archives per > Will's suggestion and I guess I'm a little clueless > because I'm coming up with nothing. Guest guest
I have been a vegetarian for 18 years, but not vegan. I do not like meat so I cannot imagine ever eating it again. What foods do you recommend for the fat? I eat avocados, I like eggs but was afraid to eat them after this gallbladder attack - maybe I should go have one? I haven't found that it is a trigger food for me, but I've been afraid to put anything in my mouth other than veggies and fruits. So what fats would you suggest? Guest guest
Hi , not only was I vegan, but a raw food vegan for three years. It was great for short-term solutions but I had my worst attack ever during that time and it lasted for a month and would have kept on going except I started eating more warming foods and they gradually dissipated. I guess different bodies have different needs. I have been eating a lot of raw lately but the lady I spoke to up in Canada who sells the gold coin grass told me that too much raw food weakens the spleen and it's all interconnected -- liver, gallbladder, pancrease and spleen (at least for a start). I've been eating more animal foods. I think culprit that got me this time was an addiction to coffee and chocolate (two no-no's if you have gallbladder problems) even though it was only one cup and one piece of chocolate -- I kept thinking, it's not like I'm overloading my body with the stuff -- I didn't have much, I just *had* to have it every day. Funny thing, before I was never attracted to coffee or chocolate until my raw vegan time. It brought up some interesting addictive behavior. At any rate, I've only given them both up in the past few weeks. I'm going to eventually ease back into raw dairy soon and maybe small portions of meat and just have broth for now as my liver heals up after the flush. How about eggs? Have they aggravated gallstones for anyone? I'd kind of like to get an idea what kind of diet everyone has. What you eat on a day to day basis. I realize it may run from one extreme to the other but I'd like to find some common sources of food. I will tell you that I have to avoid grains like the plague although rice seems to be okay. Guest guest
Hi Lori, Sounds like you are up against a lot of challenges and I'm sorry you have so much to address. A way to potentially address several of your issues at once with one protocol is to do a thorough parasite cleanse if you haven't already. Parasites can live in every part of your body and cause all the problems you have listed so far. Of course, it's always a multi-faceted cause when we have problems and that requires a multi-faceted treatment. Parasite cleansing sounds like a good priority for you as one of your treatments if you are so inclined. http://curezone.com/diseases/parasites/default.asp http://curezone.com/cleanse/parasites/ These sites have some gross third world pictures of parasite infestations that really don't help convice us sanitized " civilized " folks that parasites could possibly be a problem with us. Cleansing our entire body, including of parasites will cure a lot of problems. These sites are very thorough in presenting the problem of parasites and the treatments that we can easily do. Dr. Hulda says in the 500 or so cleanses she supervised before she wrote her first book the only flushes that yeilded few or no stones were the ones in which the people did not do a parasite killing first. Best Regards, Vince ...... > > By the way, I've just done my first full flush. Guest guest
I have some stuff with those same ingredients (among other things) that I've used before. But then I looked at the price of ia and fell out of my chair. Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If nothing has worked by January of 2006, I may go that route. I'll actually have money then. I make most of my income during the winter. Lori
Guest guest
Thanks. I get their coconut oil and it is fabulous. I was talking about this parasite cleanse stuff from Hulda 's site -- it was just so expensive ($155.00). There has to be a similar way at a cheaper price. Guest guest
hi there, I have recently joined and been reading posts with interest. I noticed many people believe in the value of flax oil for its healthful properties. I wanted to recount my personal experience with it. I started taking 1 tablespoon of flax a day and after about a year I started noticing that I was getting quite stiff, my feet turned purple and I got edema in one foot. I wondered what was going on...it took me another year to put two and two together and to realize that the flax was the cause of the problem. My liver is now very congested and I theorize that the flax clogged up my liver. I also have very high copper levels and believe the combination of copper in the liver with the flax has created the problem. When I started taking the flax I thought it was giving me omega 3's but have since found out if a person is not healthy they are probably not converting it (flax needs to be converted from W6 to W3) and instead I was ending up with a whole lot more of W6. Anyway, something to keep in mind - I certainly wouldn't use flax as a flush since it had the opposite effect on me. ne -----Original Message----- From: gallstones [mailto:gallstones ]On Behalf Of Lori Sent: Sunday, May 22, 2005 11:13 AM gallstones Subject: New -- help!!
