Guest guest
We are back from the doctors. Thanks again everyone for all your suggestions/comments. This is a very helpful group indeed! The dr was all set to think that Aundrea's problems were increased symptoms of GERD, but then she listened to her lungs and her rattles on the left side. It cleared a bit when Drea coughed and the right side sounded good. So she diagnosed her with bronchitis and wants her to start an antibiotic (z-pac) and is also giving her a cough syrup with I believe some codiene in it that she said would help her sleep at night as well as help with the joint pain. She said to give this another week along with the prilosec. If problems persist we will then go to see a GI specialist. Overall, it was a better day for Drea. She made it thru the whole school day and other than some tummy pain after lunch she said that she did pretty good. (Aundrea 11 systemic jra) > > Hey guys, I have a couple questions. Guest guest
I sure hope the z-pack works for her. Still pay attention to her foods though in case she does have to see GI. I bet the NSAIDs still had a lot to do with all of this. In fact Hannah's ped told me all the high doses of pred she was on this winter for her asthma probably caused Hannah's GERD. Of course they told me it would go away after she was off the pred...nothing is ever typical with Hannah. sonia1md <sonia1md@...> wrote: We are back from the doctors. Guest guest
In my research yesterday on GERD I saw quite a bit mentioned regarding asthma. We know that aundrea is defiantely having acid reflux problems and I don't know if the bronchitis is just an extra problem...If she didn't have the rattle in her lungs then I would have doubted the need for the antibiotic. I will definately keep an eye on her meal intake. I am easily seeing a correlation now to some foods. Thanks again for the insight on that. I will be very glad when we get this problem resolved because I think it will allow her to be more like herself. Joint pain makes her tired and hurt. But the knot in her throat and stomach ache causes her to have anxiety about going anywhere. P.S. Good luck with your meeting at the school today. I will be anxious to hear how it turns out! I have a story to tell about the lunkhead gym teacher and what he said to Aundrea's classmate that has uncontrolled pauci jra right now...i will save it for later..time to head to work. sonia (drea 11 systemic jra) > > > > Hey guys, I have a couple questions.
